I'm sure it is a MLM, but it's all join my private group to find out more, balance your life, breath in wellness and I won't be part of that MLM crap. There must be a sales pitch, I can't see it as purely a life coach stuff, as surely you'd have to do some training? This has come out of nowhere, plus there's the dreaded do you want to share my view palm trees join me bollocks. Has I lost another normal person to the bots?

There's a box .. anyone know ?

Mumdiva99 · 27/11/2020 22:27

Shall we take bets? JP....it changes your whole life....scents....use the smells to meditate....or maybe the stationary.....all the lists will solve your problems....

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 27/11/2020 22:28

No idea, but I also know someone who has suddenly started pushing her new wellness/life coaching on everyone. Maybe it's related?

FlibbertyGiblets · 27/11/2020 22:29

Arbonne B Corp. That is the logo.
I'm sorry. Your poor friend.

Hawkins001 · 27/11/2020 22:31

The logo on the box means the business the person has brought or received goods from is businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, b corps form a community of leaders and help too encourage proactive business development.

JumperooSue · 27/11/2020 22:31

Someone I know became a wellness coach and started a page like this, she posted all the time about positive energy, mediation etc etc and in real life she’s literally one of the most self centred, impatient, self absorbed humans I’ve ever met. She done all these weird live videos where she adopted this fake therapist type voice, it really was so odd!

Mrgrinch · 27/11/2020 22:35

It's so sad to see so many good people get drawn into this crap. I feel like job losses and time spent at home due to the pandemic have made things worse.

Are you a bot?
Osquito · 27/11/2020 22:43

I thought a b-corp was a business that meets the highest ethical/environmental standards...

youvegottenminuteslynn · 27/11/2020 22:47

Had a google and...

While B Corp claims that certification balances the interests of shareholders with the interests of workers, customers, communities and the environment, B Corp standards are not legally enforceable. Neither the board nor the corporation are liable for damages if a company fails to meet them. Even the changes in company bylaws remain secret. A business can fill out the initial B Corp Impact Assessment in a few hours, and complete the certification process in between four and eight weeks, finally paying a certification fee of between US$500 and US$50,000, depending on revenue.

B Corp certification is available to any for-profit business around the globe as long as it’s been operating for at least 12 months. Certification is initially self-assessed, and doesn’t override the profit-driven focus of the company.

Sounds like a very MLM friendly badge of honour so no surprise Arbonne is a fan - very few deep dive checks, self assessment and lots of buzzwords...

Tigger001 · 27/11/2020 22:49

I too have a friend who has recently started chatting about wellness and mindfulness, who is the least mindfulness person ever 😂😂

I hope it not another episode of MLM🙄🙄

tunnocksreturns2019 · 27/11/2020 22:51

B corp includes companies like Abel and Cole - it’s not an indication of an MLM. Body Shop are B Corp too though and they have MLM sellers, don’t they? But B Corp is a red herring on its own

Oreservoir · 27/11/2020 22:53

Whenever I see an MLM now I just think of poor Shanann Watts.

Hawkins001 · 27/11/2020 22:54

candy I did a bit of research

GoudaGirl · 27/11/2020 23:07

B Corp is a sustainable type certification and nothing to do with MLM.
Many companies are certified in lots of industries. There isn't anything suspicious about it. Companies have to undergo various audits on their social, environmental and financial practices and governance etc.
Does rather remind me of Bee movie (animated film) ? though!
Are you sure it isn't just the box that's certified! Grin
Does seem a bit odd!

domesticslattern · 27/11/2020 23:13

I also have a friend who has started up as a mindfulness and wellbeing consultant/ lifecoach and she is literally one of the most unlikely people possible, her personal life is in turmoil and she is very depressed.
It's all a bit odd. Confused
At least she isn't involved in an MLM (hopefully!). I worry as more people get made redundant they will turn to MLMs or other batshittery...

whatisthepointofatoering · 27/11/2020 23:18

Hmmm I see the box isn't it. I can only see a few posts on her personal page, she's taken it into a private group of positive energy so I best not join she mentions health, nutrition and beauty products. Plus there's a discount but you can see what she sells. This is how they get you interested if you are a nosey cow like me moooo 🐄

OP posts:
whatisthepointofatoering · 27/11/2020 23:19

You can't see what she sells - gah - unless you join the group

The logo on the box is ( I'm pretty sure)
Is Arbonne. Which is an MLM. Nasty pyramid scheme like business model, preys on innocent people, encourages bots to "fake it til you make it, encourages them to target their friends as customers, and bugs the hell out of all their followers on social media. Not to mention the false health claims amongst others

Justajot · 27/11/2020 23:25

I thought mindfulness was a mental thing. How can it go in a box and be sold as MLM?

whatisthepointofatoering · 27/11/2020 23:27

@andfurtively I just looked up airborne and it fits the language without being even more outing I of course name changed but it's all grow, Florish, blossom

According to their website -
A typical Arbonne Independent Consultant (AIC) in the United Kingdom earned between £79–£324 in 2019 in earnings and commissions. The VP Success Award is available at the VP level; less than 2% of the AICs achieve this award. Please see earnings.arbonne.com.

That's not a lot really why bother Confused

whatisthepointofatoering · 27/11/2020 23:29

I see it's spelt Airbonne, airborne is my COVID MLM I'm going set up 😆 don't steal my idea anyone

no doubt my DSis will be along soon with her latest self-employed mumpreneur nonsense filling my timelines

Xiaoxiong · 27/11/2020 23:39

Apparently Arbonne has been certified as a B corp!!! That massively reduces my respect for the integrity of the B corp certification.
