Relief.

My daughter passed. Kent. Now just got to wait for school allocation!

Mini celebration tonight but not ott. I’d bought the treats before knowing because either way - we were going to celebrate. Either for passing or for never having to think about the 12 plus again!

tabernacles DD’s school and Lancaster grammars are same set up admissions wise. Rumour locally is a pass in catchment is about 75%. Out of catchment need to be scoring 85/90% to get a place which are allocated on score basis you could live in London and get a place distance not a factor. There’s 150 places and only 100 in catchment pass. So 50 places available to out of catchment. It’s totally different to other areas.

Lincolnshire here. DS did tests for two schools, but whilst we were waiting for results, we decided that the non-grammar would be a better fit for both him and our family. As it turns out, he passed one and for the other he got enough that he would have got in if we'd been in catchment, but we're not, so he didn't 😅 He still thinks it was worth doing though, it's nice to know that he could have gone if it had been more suitable 😊
