She’s read all of the Daisy books, and likes Jacqueline Willson too. I got her a big box of Jacqueline Willson books but just realised some of them are about quite older themes, like death and violence! I don’t really want her reading them as she’s really sensitive and worries, but she likes the style of writing, and I don’t know what to try her with now!

She’s only just started free reading and loves it, so I want to be able to get her quite a few books for Christmas!

Out of interest, does anyone have a kindle for their 7/8 yr old? With the libraries closed I’m finding it hard work buying books all the time!

@adagio we got DD one for her 7th birthday and she loves it. She’s read Harry Potter 1,2,3 on it and also likes the isadora Moon books and the non fiction stuff.
She was quite a keen reader anyway, the only things which don’t work well are beautiful illustrations so we have lots of paper books too.

Thanks @MsAnnFrope much appreciated - my dd is also a keen reader which is why I’m considering it Smile

Slightly older sister really enjoyed Malory Towers... The original ones, the follow on ones and the book version of the TV series.

Last post...for cheap books I like Books2Door and The Works.

13 etc storey treehouse is what my 7yr old is reading currently. He's also read The Bolds, Zoes zoo rescue such as the puzzled penguin were a hit too. There is also the (awful) Rainbow Magic books - there are hundreds of them but you'd not want more than a set or 2 as they are very repetitive.

@Aroundtheworldin80moves your DD sounds like she has very similar taste in books to mine. Some I’ve not heard of there so thank you for the suggestions!
