Need Help - Amazon Account Blocked

Hi
Need some help/advice please!
I have an Amazon account a few years. Have only purchased a few items, mainly in the last few months for obvious reasons!
One item delivered so far.
Went to order more things today..... 'Account Blocked' due to alleged suspicious activities.... fair enough I'm not usual shopper.... followed the instructions... uploaded a scanned copy of my actual credit card statement.... thinking all sorted in a bit.
Got back an email tonight, saying they couldn't verify my card details off what I provided?!?!!
Any suggestions on what to do next?

I had the same and had to make a new account. Very annoying!

@RunningFromInsanity
Had you orders in transit? If so, did you get them?

Just make a new account. Are you sure you were on the correct amazon website and didn’t access it via an email? I’ve heard a lot about scams by scammers pretending to be amazon

user1496146479 · 25/11/2020 23:05

@Mammylamb
Correct Amazon site, the minute I log in it's comes up.
Can make a new one, but I'm concerned I won't get what I've already ordered & paid for.
It says while your account is blocked - orders in transit may be cancelled!

Probably due to the current AWS outtage.

This happened early this morning, so I think it's before the current issues. But maybe

This could be dodgy, i.e. not from Amazon. Do not click the links or share passwords/account details to this site. Contact them through customer services using verified number online.

Use their app instead - much easier imo.

The products you've bought haven't been from Chinese sellers with hundreds and hundreds or even thousands of fake reviews are they by any chance?

I get a lot of emails from Chinese sellers asking me to accept free items in exchange for review. You used to see hundreds of reviews on products with a disclosure on the end. Amazon put a stop to it because people would give five stars to a shit product so they could keep getting more free shit.

I still get the emails (which I ignore) but now the sellers just get people to buy the product and once they've left five stars the seller refunds via PayPal. I've had dozens and dozens the last few days and some of the people replying to the sellers don't realise everyone on the mailing list can see and they've been kicking off that they've been blocked. Generic smart watches, Bluetooth earphones and power banks mostly.

I'm not saying you've accepted free items in exchange for positive reviews but if you've bought one of the products that a dodgy seller has been paying for inflated reviews at the same time hundreds of fallen customers have them you may have been caught up in it.

If it's not a branded product, have a look at the reviews and if there's loads with photos of the item in the packaging, or not in use all over a short period of time you might find it's something like that.

Thanks, it's not a link though, it's when I log into my actual account!

No free items! Smile
