What gifts would teachers like. Our school have allowed teacher presents which will be quarantined before the teachers open it. I will be buying for both teachers at my child's class.
Can anyone give ideas of what to buy? Am sure they will receive loads of chocolate as it is. I don't know what things they are in to so I can't think what to get

I don't know.

Flowers?

Teacher threads seem to hate chocolate and wine!

I love getting chocolates or nice biscuits, we often share those around the department as well. I'm teetotal so don't appreciate wine. I've had some nice handsoap and at a time like this maybe welcome. I once got a pair of thick socks which I thought was odd, but they were lovely and toasty!

Club together with another/other parents and get vouchers?

PaxMalmKallax · 24/11/2020 18:10

Looking forward to the teacher bashers reminding you that we get paid/chose our jobs etc etc

Something consumable, preferably that can be shared in the staff room! Last we all kept biscuits etc that had long dates... made January a bit brighter!!

We have been told no gifts this year no exceptions. The head sent a letter out saying so many people had tough year and it’s isn’t fair on the kids who can’t afford to buy so no presents at all.

A handwritten card is the best gift. I've kept all mine ❤️

A student once got me a big mug and filled it with various hot chocolate sachets, that was nice. I also don’t drink so when gifted wine I thank them but then pass it on to another as it’s wasted with me.
All for the chocolate though! I have also recieved some Lindt chocolate bars and had them packaged nicely. The effort was what I liked most.

Perhaps look to see if they wear jewellery (nothing fancy but like cheap necklace or something from a retail shop). Do they wear any kind of accessory? Are there any small details about them you can spot and maybe find a gift from that?

All I can say really is that itms the thought and effort which is appreciated, not cost.

Chocolate always works for me!

ChikiTIKI · 24/11/2020 18:20

I'm not a teacher.. But what about a hot chocolate bomb? They sell them in lakeland and other places too.

Flightsoffancy · 24/11/2020 18:45

Ooh, thank you! Bought or homemade biscuits or fudge are always welcome as is wine. I always appreciate the presents I'm given. Have been given books before, including poetry collections, which was lovely. But just a card is also fine, as is nothing!

Peppafrig · 24/11/2020 18:46

Really I wouldn’t take homemade gifts from strangers houses in these times .

No flowers as they will by dying off whilst in quarantine.
