Isolation

A few days ago DD's school bubble were told they needed to self isolate for a week as someone in the bubble tested positive for COVID. As I am a single parent I have taken the time of work to stay home with her, even though I am a key worker unable to work from home. Neither me or DD have any symptoms. DD is desperate to get out of the house and go to the cemetery to visit her dad.

WIBU to take her tomorrow? We would go in the middle of the day when it is generally empty anyway, we would be driving there and back not taking public transport and it is very easy for us to stay more than 2 metres away from anyone else.

If you haven't done a week, then no. YWBU.

Givemeabreak88 · 24/11/2020 13:51

YABU, my child has also been sent home to isolate and isolate actually means stay at home but I’m guessing you probably did it anyway.

PandemicPalava · 24/11/2020 13:52

You should stay home. It is hard but you really should. Teach her why

Mindymomo · 24/11/2020 13:56

Unfortunately no she cannot go out, I’m afraid.

Actually no I didn't take her. If I was going to do it anyway then I would not have been asking for people's opinions.

A week? We have to do 2 weeks here Confused

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 24/11/2020 14:20

Those saying YABU - what do you think the risk is?

Brighterthansunflowers · 24/11/2020 14:21

YABU

The rule is stay at home, so she needs to stay at home. It’s not “stay 2m away from other people”

It’s only for two weeks, stay at home

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 24/11/2020 14:23

I probably would go though, don't really see the problem. You won't be touching anything, you won't be near anyone.

Givemeabreak88 · 24/11/2020 15:01

Yes 2 weeks here as well so if it’s only a week I’m sure you can wait?? It’s not about what I think the risks are it’s more where do you draw the line. I live near a field so is it ok to take my child for a walk if we stay 2m from people?!
