Embarrassing problem! Need advice

So embarrassed so I'm asking anonymously.

Me and dh's bedroom smells of BO and has done for a few months. We shower/bath everyday and wash everything at 60 degrees once a week. I have the windows open all day. I have cleaned the whole room extremely thoroughly and clean regularly anyway. I have had the curtains dry cleaned, replaced the duvets and pillows and bed spread. Sometimes it seems a bit less then it's back.

Nowhere else in the house smells, we don't, the kids rooms don't. My last idea is the mattress but I can't afford to replace it and it's not that old and super comfy.

Any advice greatly welcomed!

Best advice is to go sniffing, move furniture sniff, move bed sniff, look for pest signs, turn lights on for an hour sniff, lift flooring sniff, scratch paint sniff, open wardrobe sniff, open loft hatch sniff. If all that fails save up and get a man in

Try getting new pillows. My grandsons room stank terrible. Daughter did all the things above and then I read somewhere about pillows being the culprit. She threw the old ones away and bought new and hey presto the smell went.

Did you ever get to the bottom of it OP?

Knittedfairies · 02/12/2020 16:38

Did you replace the bulb holder bit?

@Plumbuddle

Sorry, use gloves not goves. Although it conjured up a sweet little fantasy of many little michaels being soaked in toxic oil and being pushed through cracks head first...
You paint quite the picture, my friend! 😂

Did you ever discover the culprit

If you both sweat a lot try using Dettol soap when showering x

@Serena1977 Did you ever find out what was causing the smell? I'm invested now!

Do you use deodorant? Because showering doesn't really help if you don't use underarm deodorant.
