AIBU not wanting a dog come and sniff my baby’s face?

Seriously, lots of dog owners let their dog - most of them are big enough to reach my baby who is sitting in the buggy- come close to my baby and sniff her face and say “oh she is friendly”
How on earth that they think I am ok with that?
I am talking about the dogs who are on the lead by their owner. I usually try to go away from free running dogs to avoid this but I am expecting the dogs are on lead should kept away by their owner to make sure they are not coming too close to other people. When this happens I gently get my buggy away and some times I get told of like “ she is not going bite” I don’t even say anything but this is starting to be very stressful now. Not the dogs stressing me out I can go away from them but the owners keep feeling offended.

I mean walking pass is fine I just don’t want them to get into my personal space.
PS i actually like dogs I just don’t want to close contact with them.

I have two dogs and I wouldn't like that. I hate it when they stick their heads in your shopping too. If you wouldn't let your child go up to someone and go through their bags and lick their faces, don't let your dog do it.

DDog2 had a few puppy moments where he bounded up to random children and licked them and I always collared him straight away and apologised profusely. You'll always get the odd not-as -trained-as-I-thought incidents but some owners just don't even react! They just smile vacantly.

I am so glad I am not the only one bothering with this. As one of the poster mentioned I am always nervous about having picnic too. There is always a dog to ruin it

Gross! Never should let a dog do this anyway to strangers.

I'd say something.
'Oh they're nice!'
I'm also nice but I don't go around licking my genitals then lick your face and say it's okay I'm nice!

It's disgusting. No way would I be letting a dog anywhere near my DS.

I thought of this thread at the weekend. Playing football with the kids and a dog appears and flings itself onto the football. Managed to get the (slobbery) ball back and hold it high in the air while the owner calls the dog back. You might expect a shout of “sorry”. Nope. “He won’t burst it” was the cry from the owner. My OH got a bit of red mist and slow clapped the owner while they walked away Blush
