Every single time I want to cook anything the thing I need is in the cupboard under a different thing and I have to have a fight with the cupboard and I've just whacked my forehead on the counter trying to retrieve a frying pan Angry

There has got to be a better way.

We have a gas hob. I stack the ones I always use next to the hob. Simple

InTheLongGrass · 18/11/2020 18:33

S hooks on a bar above the sink.

Pickypolly · 18/11/2020 18:35

In my bastard cupboard Grin

TheDowagerDuchess · 18/11/2020 18:39

I need a free standing pan stand! I have mine in a corner cupboard with that “swing out” thing but I still have the problem you describe OP!

speakout · 18/11/2020 18:51

I have an understairs cupboard in one corner of my kitchen, quite deep but only half height, it was a jumble of free standing shelves and evrything stuffed away.
My genius joiner built shelves, racks for lids and other equipment, put in big hooks and sorted out the whole cupboard for me, even lights that come on when I open the door.
Only charged me £100 for the whole job!

BitOfFun · 18/11/2020 18:57

I hang mine up with hooks on a metal shelf/rack- the lids go on the shelf bit.

Metal rack with hanging bar for hooks.

Mainly because I don't have enough cupboard space or any drawer at all shit kitchen design but it works so much better.

FadedRed · 18/11/2020 19:10

Pan drawers. Game changer.

AlwaysLatte · 18/11/2020 19:12

The lesser used ones are in a couple of cupboards near the cooker and the every day pans and frying pans/pancake pan are hanging on hooks above the cooker.

AlwaysLatte · 18/11/2020 19:13

Oh and a drawer for the lids. Old farmhouse kitchen so no modern pan drawers here.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 18/11/2020 19:16

Well they were nicely stacked in a cupboard. It was a bit of a faff, but not too bad.
Now it's Ds1's job to empty and stack the dishwasher my pan cupboard has everything slung in it from a significant distance. Think "just lost a game of jenga".
I only mastered the tupperware by slinging a lot of it away.

sansou · 18/11/2020 19:17

Pan drawers beneath the hob. The majority of my bottom kitchen units are pan drawers - yes, they’re more expensive which is why my base units come from Ikea. Saves all the knee bending as well as the eye level oven. Love them. I thought that I might upgrade the doors in the future but it’s been nearly a decade and they are perfectly fine as they are.

VintageMemories · 18/11/2020 19:18

Stacked in a cabinet, with the "priority" ones near the front and the ones that never get used in the back. A rack/stand thing in the same cabinet (admittedly a large double cabinet) keeps the lids out of the way.

Goldrill · 18/11/2020 19:18

We've just moved house and I have acquired pan drawers; awesome!

StanfordPines · 18/11/2020 19:20

Hanger. It was here when we moved in but I think it’s IKEA.

Thank you @Blibbyblobby they are ace!

BessieSurtees · 18/11/2020 19:23

Pan drawers but I’ve never solved the bastard Tupperware problem.

Mimilamore · 18/11/2020 19:25

Mine hang from the ceiling rack on butchers's hooks... hated the rummaging before!

dementedma · 18/11/2020 19:30

Slung in a cupboard, big ones on little ones, all come crashing out when I want one. Tupperware cupboard of death was culled recently but
has refilled itself by spawning during the hours of darkness.
Oven trays live in the oven and have to be removed every time I want to use it. Need a new kitchen

PronkWine · 18/11/2020 20:41

Pan drawers, they've the best thing in the kitchen!

picklemewalnuts · 18/11/2020 20:53

I've solved the tupperware problem. Hang on, i'll find a picture.

Meepmeeep · 18/11/2020 20:55

In a fucking cupboard and in a shitting drawer.

picklemewalnuts · 18/11/2020 20:56

Drat. Can't get one now.

Ikea does a fabric two drawer unit. I put lids in the top, and tubs in the bottom. It fits on the top shelf of the lower cupboard. It works great.
