Nursery not insisting on a Covid test dispute high temp - AIBU

I work at the nursery my son attends. Nursery received a phone call from a parent yesterday saying that their child had a high temp. Parent also informed us that the child had received the nasal flu vaccine last Thursday. The parent did not get a Covid test for the child. Nursery let the child in today. When I arrived at work and saw that the child had been allowed to attend I took my child straight back home with me so I’m currently not working. Vote you YABU if you agree that the nursery was correct in letting the child attend today or YANBU if you think I was right to remove myself and my child.
@jomaIone the NHS website doesn’t list a temp as a side effect of the nasal vaccine only of the injection. I’m at a loss as to when to send my son back there now
It’s one of the common side effects

I was specifically told when my DD had hers that a temp 4-7 days after is very common and doesn’t have to be treated like potential COVID, so I don’t think the nursery have done anything wrong

Yes high temp is a side affect from nasal spray my dd had temp from it last year she's due her on Thursday I spoke to head teacher today to ask how its going to work if she get temp again this time an teacher said even tho its a side affect she will still need testing but coming back yo school fingers crossed she OK this time with it I do know of other schools in area saying if they get temp within the first 24hours of having flu spray no need to test after 24 hours then they need test.

My DS has nasal vaccine a month or so ago - I was told temp is rare but possible side effect (less common than with the jab) but that if it happened within 48 hours it could be ‘disregarded’ for covid purposes - but if it happened 48 hours later or more, a test would be needed 🤷🏻‍♀️

It seems unlikely that a temp would occur 4 days after the vaccine but not impossible- but in those circumstances I think a test would be warranted. But as PP said,
Don’t think nursery could insist on test (though they could presumably not allow child back at least until symptoms resolved)

The literature sent home from school says any high temperature 48 hours after the vaccination can be disregarded for the purposes of COVID unless it is accompanied by any other symptoms.

Therefore it seems the nursery did the right thing.

Just seen the update about the 4th day.
Our school would ask for a test to be completed in that case or to isolate if not.

My 4 yo DD was sent home from nursery with a temp and they said she could come back after it had been down for 24 hours! We did test her anyway, but I imagine lots of parents wouldn't.
