To ask the consultant to be only left to 41 weeks?

my care is consultant led due to bmi, which is fair enough if they feel thats necessary, (my blood pressure, samples have been absolutely fine, have been through every pregnancy so please no hysterics and hyperventilating about me being a burden on the nhs, im really not, i dont begrudge them doing their jobs even if doing so creates dehumanising labels and broad assumptions that aren't reflected in my actual health) just get that out the way.
My biggest 'health issue' is the Hypermesis Gradvarium is battle with daily at 36 weeks still and am on medication ive lost 1st 6lbs, after putting some back on.
Anyway, would i be unreasonable to ask not to be left to 42 weeks, and delivered on week 41,the baby is considered about 5lbs now although scans can be innacurate,
i dont want to risk the baby becoming too large, ive experienced that before, no growth scans with that pregnancy so wasn't picked up.
I need this hypermesis to end! my history shows i will be vomit until im no longer pregnant, its hellish.
im very near Christmas, i dont want to be in a labour ward at Christmas staff levels during a pandemic!
Would i be unreasonable to ask them not to leave me 42 weeks and at the latest 41?

Apparently you can be considered HG even with no actual vomiting, that surprised me tbh.
But yeah x2 today, its less than 5,6 times but im 36 + weeks, even my midwife was like Shock still.....!

Slight hijack. I had HG diagnosed although I only vomited a handful of times. I was constantly nauseous to the point where I couldn't eat at all and I lost 10lb in 8 days. I couldnt drink either which was a big no no.

Its a horrible thing another @anotherwinkywinkybumbum, did you get a picc line in?
ive lost about 2st, i had weight to loose but still not great whilst pregnant.

Why 41 weeks? I was induced dead on 40 weeks to the day. I made them promise me that I could be as I went 2 weeks over with my oldest and he was massive, caused 3rd degree tear etc etc. This one was clearly not as big, but I reminded them that they'd promised and even though the consultant tried to put me off (inductions can take ages, you might be in 3 days etc etc) I was adamant. In the end it all progressed fine, and my recorded delivery was 2.5 minutes 🤦‍♀️
My point is, ask to be induced at 40 weeks, then compromise to 41 if you must.

YAABSOLUTELYNBU!

They did a recent study on when to induce - which they had to halt early because it became apparent so quickly that there is a real risk to the baby to leave pregnancies to 42 weeks. So seriously, kick up a fuss!

Things I’ve done to help kick start labour are taking raspberry leaf capsules from 37 weeks and starting Clary sage oil baths from 40 weeks...all my kids have been born at 41+ weeks, so maybe they don’t work, but worth a try, right?!

Why wait until 41 weeks - in your situation I'd be asking for 39/40 weeks max.

thanks everyone, i spoke to my midwife last week, she seemed to agree and listen she wrote in 40/41 weeks, and i said if possible id prefer 40 weeks, i have final growth scan this week, i better not have another dismissive consultant, a decision needs to be made now im 37 weeks.
