Constant crying & whinging

could send someone to the edge of insanity

19 month old DD has been crying for days now, I’m pretty sure it’s teething but then I always say that and it never turns out to be right 🤦‍♀️

No temperature, no snotty nose, no outwardly clear symptoms of anything apart from slightly sloppy poo’s. She’s totally off her food which is very unlike her.

90% of the time she is sobbing, then she is happy & laughing for a few minutes then goes back to sobbing. I’m keeping her topped up with Calpol & teething powders & cuddles but I feel absolutely frazzled.

Anyone else just having one of those days???

Sounds like teething to me. You poor sods.

Should also add that she is a twin, so I’ve also got to contend with her sister hanging off my legs crying as well as she isn’t getting enough attention. The tv has been on far too much today 😫😫😫🙈🙈🙈

Gaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!

T'ain't enough wine in the world!

Pamol, bonjela and wine got me through teething, but mine were singletons!

Cool teething rings, wet towels, bonjella, cold water melon) banana and fruit pops barely got me through.

Waveysnail · 16/11/2020 21:20

Is she chomping on things? Will she let you rub her gums?

helloxhristmas · 16/11/2020 21:22

Ibuprofen is better for teething ime and you can piggy back with calpol when it's really bad. Dts were Bloody competitive in their teething pain, it was horrendous so you my sympathy.

bridgetjones1 · 16/11/2020 21:48

She is chewing the life out of her dummy, all of that front teeth are through, she has a gap & then has some back teeth that are either through or just about to come through. Poor sod.

I have tried getting some fingers in her mouth but she cries and wails so much I’m not very successful 🤦‍♀️

Her sister only has 2 bottom teeth at the grand age of 19 months, so this teething hell is going to be sticking around for a while yet

@helloxhristmas yes I do agree actually, I’ve been alternating just to keep the pain at bay xx

Could it be hand foot & mouth? Or an ear infection?

If she is teething Ashton and Parsons saved all of us. Sounds tough op, I thought I had it bad with one at a time but twins is a whole new level. I get what pp is saying re infections but they would usually present with a temperature (mine ended up in an ambulance with an ear infection ordered by gp) but there was a temp with it. So, keep an eye out, the not wanting to eat along with winging is usually teething but trust your instinct if you feel something else is going on and ask a gp to look her over.
