Quick one for judgement call.

My ex and father of my ds9 has a job working for a takeaway business. Ds has told me that he goes out with his dad sometimes delivering takeaways. I asked what he does while dad goes into collect the food and deliver it to peoples doors. He said he stays in the car. I'm not happy about this especially at night. But ds says he's fine with it, dad can usually see him and the car door is always locked. He's a sensible lad and knows not to talk to anyone or open the door.

Aibu to feel uncomfortable about this? My ex has form for being a bit of a dick and I doubt he would acknowledge my concerns - if he deems it to be safe it must be. Aibu - it's fine for a child of his age to be alone for a minute in a locked car? Or not?

Are they singing and chatting though, or is the lad just on his phone all evening? Every weekend.

My DH has a mate who sees his son at weekends and ''always takes him fishing''. Yeah. The dad fishes (his own hobby) and the boy sits in the back of the tent on his phone. Every weekend.

My mum used to clean at a big posh house when I was 9. She took me with her in school holidays. I can still remember the joy of it 50 years later.

I think it sounds fine - and I bet he sneaks the odd chip!
