How are people keeping themselves entertained inside?

I've had another shielding letter Hmm arrive on Wednesday morning. I've gutted the entire house, I've bought new furniture to keep myself occupied getting it put together. There is literally nothing left to do in the house in terms of house work.

We've not got much left to be doing on the wedding planning front, just bits & pieces to be paying off closer to the time, so can't spend hours scrolling through the internet trying to find bits.

I've already been for a walk this morning, intend on doing a home workout once I've had an Argos delivery.

I am bored senseless... despite being on here, I am childless.

God I spend hours and hours on the internet just doing nothing Blush

I will start some random spiral and not come out of it for weeks. Do you never get the urge to research random things like the history of lifts? :o

Running - did c25k in the first lockdown which is my absolute saviour, and walks. I realise your are shielding but can you locate an isolated spot, or go at an odd time, so as to avoid others.

Watching tv! Binge watching the crown in order to try to catch up for tonight.

Baking - nothing wrong with carrying this on if you started in first lockdown or if you’ve always baked, or starting anew. Nothing wrong with making banana breads either a it’s not just a first lockdown thing.

If you like sewing or knitting or think you might, try that. Or write that book you’ve always thought of writing. Or taking up gaming - I know lots of adult women who do.

Reading of course too!

I have the kind of job that can spread out to take over every waking moment. Apart from that, I cook quite a lot: dh and I have this thing where we try at least one new recipe a week, often more. I have fish tanks and a small garden. Social media. Watch films. Read.

Dh works from home but spends the time saved from his usual 4 hour commute on baking and painting. He always did water colours but has now started with acrylics and oil; teaches himself from the internet. Our house is slowly turning into a picture gallery.

My mother (shielding since the spring) is writing her memoirs. Also organising old family photographs.

Also on the shielding list. I work pt from home which is a godsend. Other days long dog walks, watch TV (Netflix is a godsend), day dream, phone people, clean, wash, decluttering, mumsnet, facebook, internet, Twitter, Zoom get togethers, decorating or thinking about it done one room dreaming about doing another.
