Recently had a baby and had my notes added to online portal
Been reading through and quite shocked.
I have a skin condition. At each of my appts I was asked about it and explained what it was and what treatment I was having. Thought no more of it ....
On my notes for each appt for my entire pregnancy it states ‘chickenpox’
And ‘problem- chickenpox’
Also ‘patient had chickenpox but will not discuss’????? Etc etc

I had chickenpox (badly) as a child !!!
Plus nobody even asked me was it chickenpox and worst of all surely if they suspected it they should have not allowed me in the antenatal clinic etc !!!

Can I ask for the notes to be changed as the way it’s written it sounds like I’ve had it and lied saying it’s a different condition ?

I hear you op. It is distressing for you to have incorrect information recorded about you.

My brother has had to fight over a number of years to get a massive mistake on his medical records corrected as it is nothing to do with him.

He had to get a medical summary for a job and was very shocked to discover that he had miscarried several times!

He is a straight male (by birth) who is father to 8 children. He has definitely never been pregnant himself and so this is a massive mistake which has caused a lot of distress.

Yet the medical record stated that he had 3 separate miscarriages with dates. It has taken a legal challenge to get this amended. (He is not in the UK). A nightmare.

It’s on my notes that I had Kawasaki’s as a child. I didn’t. My mum was livid when I told her. They won’t change it.

@milkncoffee

Sorry I should have said 🤦‍♀️ I called about it and was told ‘it was what a professional thought so we have to keep it on the notes’
I'd suggest you point out that if their professionals seriously thought you had chicken pox for several months on end they are all in urgent need of retraining, and you look forward to receiving their confirmation that they have arranged that.

Mine said I have asthma. I don't
Couldn't get it removed, and I tried for ages. Eventually went to the asthma review they invited me for, answered all the questions, did some ridiculous number on the peak flow, answered on no inhalers, no medication. The only inhaler and nebs/ steroids I've had are for pneumonia
Nurse Hmm you're not asthmatic
THANK YOU Grin now can it be removed?!

My pregnancy notes said I'd had twins! I hadn't but the woman in the bed opposite me had...
