To buy a girls' size 15 at Next?

I want some new pyjamas and they have them in both women's and girls'. The women's ones are £24 whereas the girls' ones are £18. I'm a size 10 and 5'5- Next says age 15 is similar to size 10. Am I missing something or will they fit just fine?

I’d buy them and see. Nothing to lose.

Holothane · 14/11/2020 15:30

Why not buy what first nearest to you, if you can cheaper then we’ll done.

CasperGutman · 14/11/2020 15:32

A friend of my parents used to buy all his clothes in the children's wear section at Harrods. Why not?

kowari · 14/11/2020 15:37

Have you checked the hip measurement? The waist to hip ratio can be high on children's clothes, though pyjamas should be ok.

I can only get away with a girls 14 in tops, jeans or trousers are much too big at the right length.

swansongs · 14/11/2020 15:39

I have done this in the past. Works a treat.

flowery · 14/11/2020 15:39

Why would it be unreasonable? I’ve got several things from the Boden girls’ range, t shirts, pyjamas, hoodies, leggings.

ElspethFlashman · 14/11/2020 15:41

Next Older Girls shoes go up to a size 40. I'm a 40 and have bought them in the past!

satnighttakeaway · 14/11/2020 15:42

What an odd question, what possible reason could there be not to buy them? Confused

Have you missed some information out?

MrsSpenserGregson · 14/11/2020 15:43

They will fit fine. I used to work at Next. I wear their size 6 in adult clothes, and the girls' age 13 clothes fit me perfectly.

My 14-year-old DD is an adult size 2-4 so it makes perfect sense!

Thingsthatgo · 14/11/2020 15:45

I buy girls m and s pyjamas for camping sometimes. They are age 15-16 I think, and fit well. I’m a 10-12 but smallish boobs and hips.

JaJaDingDong · 14/11/2020 15:48

Children's clothes are cheaper because there's no VAT on kids' clothes.

Eh? Confused

I'm 47 and sitting here in Next kids PJs. I'm 5'2" and wear age 12-13 Grin

TicTacTwo · 14/11/2020 16:10

If you have small feet, you can save money from buying from the kids shoe section too. The kids sizes go up to 6ish iirc?

greensnail · 14/11/2020 16:13

They'll be fine, my 11 year old wears size 10 or age 15, they're exactly the same.

Hm2020 · 14/11/2020 16:16

On there size guide it actually says women’s size 12= child size 16 I wanted a jacket from the children’s section

GrumpyHoonMain · 14/11/2020 16:17

Depends on your shape. Girlswear’s fine if you have a largish waist in comparison to the rest of you - not if you’re pear shaped or an hour glass

Starburst8 · 14/11/2020 16:21

Buy them. I bought age 16 pj's from Next, didn't have them in a size 10 and the conversion chart showed them to be the same. Got them and tried them on... They're bigger than a 10 so win win.
Cheaper too 😂

Littlefluffyclouds13 · 14/11/2020 16:28

I very rarely buy adults clothes Grin
Even my sports bra is from the kids section.
My lovely new winter coat is aged 13 and bloody lovely, have had loads of compliments!

Reesewithaspoon · 14/11/2020 16:29

I am a size 8-10 and regularly buy kids clothes. I have loads of skinny jeans from H&M kids, much cheaper than adult ones.

TheStripes · 14/11/2020 16:31

I often get Next kids’ clothes, shoes and slippers and they fit me fine.

kowari · 14/11/2020 18:00

I'm wondering what makes children's clothes children's for the purposes of VAT above a girls size 12? Many girls have to buy a women's 6 because girls sizes are too big for the length, while many women can wear girls sizes. Doesn't make much sense to me!

gabsdot45 · 14/11/2020 18:26

My Dd is size 12 and wears age 16 clothes from next so I'd say you'll be OK.
