Bit of a lighthearted AIBU..
I'm 24 weeks pregnant and keep looking at wine/gin etc as I walk past in supermarkets and think how long I have left until I can drink it again 😥😅 .. is this normal? Does everyone do this? Dont worry I don't need any help groups haha just seeing if this is a common feeling!???

I went out for dinner a few weeks ago and non alcoholic cocktails seemed to hit the spot for me. It’s my second Christmas in a row pregnant and next year dp will be completely responsible for the children Christmas evening.

I was very lucky in that my body instantly made me feel queasy at the thought of alcohol while pregnant, and even the smell turns me sick. It’s made it much easier! I understand the longing though because I have GD and haven’t eaten sugar in 2 months. I have a list on my phone of all the terrible sugary things I’m going to eat when the baby is born!

Ahhh amazing - I’m due 24th feb 🤭

We didn’t actually find out if we are having a boy or girl so it will be a surprise

Do you know what you are having? @Duemarch2021

You can have a drink every now and then

@mrsmrt1981

I feel like that too.. fed up.. same routine every day because of covid! First lockdown i wasnt pregnant and i enjoyed sitting in our garden with a drink.. it seemed to keep me busy lol.. i just feel that looling forward to a couple of glasses in the evening would take the tesiousness away.. sounds bad really lol xx

YANBU! But then I actually craved lager (which I never drank before)! I had to get non-alcoholic ones to satisfy it. Weird.

Funkypolar · 14/11/2020 10:10

At Christmas I’m going to have a glass of champagne.

I really fancy an ice cold glass of rose or a pina colada. Sad

Oh god, I pretty much mainlined becks blue through my pregnancy.

Recommend to read “expecting better” by Emily Oster who basically says that a small amount of alcohol in pregnancy is ok, I used to really savour any drink that I did have.

Expect the “if you can’t abstain for pregnancy and even think about alcohol you have a real problem” crew along along soon though

@gretagreengrapes...last year I started making my own. Took such a like to it I swapped to non alcoholic red wine, but can't remember which one I liked.
That's also an option.
I just hated it with cinnamon sticks, cloves and star anise and it worked well.

I'm going to have to make myself a batch of egg nog before I add the rum this year too
That is usually our xmas eve tipple as we watch a movie.
