Can a self isolating child see both parents if living at different addresses?

Hello,
Can anyone link an official document which clarifies this?
DS's year group was sent home from school today due to someone in the year group testing positive for COVID. The year group have been told to self isolate for 14 days. His Dad has said that this absolutely means that he will not be able to see him for those 2 weeks.( We are divorced and Dad lives at a different address).
Is this correct?
Thank you.

my ds had the same situation - his dad refused contact so ds stayed home for the 14 days while the siblings went to dads on their days.
which makes sense that ds doesn't infect dad or his household - but absolutely shows that ds indeed has 1 home and only 'visits dad'....
hey ho

It's tricky - if your DS has been exposed to a virus, then the chances are that any parent who has regular contact with DS is at risk.

Especially if they have formed a bubble. The guidance does acknowledge this can be difficult with children.

Common sense comes in. If ds is self isolating of course he shouldnt go to his dads - that's just increasing the risk of spreading the virus.
