Posting here as thought it would reach more people.
My 8 yr old ds got a positive covid test today. He developed symptoms on Monday after we received a email from his school on Saturday saying he had been in direct contact with a positive case at school.
His symptoms have been a high temperature, loss of appetite, a bad headache and strangely a feeling of discomfort and coldness inside his nose. Just thought I would let people know of this symptom as it hasn't been mentioned anywhere. Smile

I was convinced my son had it at the weekend but the test result came back today negative. Saturday he had a fever all day, lowest I could get his temp was 38.8, said his nose hurt, sore throat, head & stomach ache & was coughing more than usual. (He's asthmatic & coughs daily anyway) Sunday he was much better just coughing with a sore throat & then just the snot you would get with a cold. The test came back negative last night & hes managed to give it to me & his dad as well. Hope everyone with it feels better soon

Bless you. It's such a worrying time. We received a email from his school saying he had been in direct contact with a covid positive. So when his temp started to go up and he became poorly we knew. You have the worry waiting for the test results then worrying about everyone else getting it. Then the financial worry on top. I've never taken my own temperature so much. My 14yr old ds is getting very annoyed with being asked how he feels and me pointing the thermometer at him. Hope you are all feeling a lot better soon.

Me and DH both had it, DH said his nose and eyes felt like they were 'burning' for a few days. He lost his smell and taste for a lot longer than I did, I wondered if there was any connection!

When i had Covid i had (and still slightly have) a metallically antisepticy funny taste/smell at the back of my throat and in my nose. Could it possibly be this and he doesnt know how to explain it properly. Also when i was breathing in at time the only way i can describe it is when you go into the cold and it takes your breath away that is what it felt like. I was quite lucky as didnt get the temp or the headaches which others have had. Hope he gets well soon x
