To ask for MLM success stories?

This is not a TAAT so please don’t report this for that. But its inspired by the ongoing MLM thread where a friend of the OP who is/was a teacher has/is giving it up to work for an MLM scheme.

And I was just wondering: does anyone know anyone who has had success from this? There are countless horror stories and warnings to make it obvious MLMs are more scams than successes but surely they are benefitting some people out there otherwise they would not exist?

I am not asking this because I am questioning joining one or remotely tempted or intrigued by it before anyone asks! Just purely wondered if there is anyone who knows someone who has been successful in these and how much work they put into it

I once got conned into buying a younique mascara - what absolute dog shite it was. My eye lashes looked like bloody spiders legs.

I delete anyone off my social media selling MLM - one recently who is a qualified nurse, but seems to be peddling Herbalife or something. Every morning I was having to look at her fucking putrid looking smoothie, accompanied by a twee ‘live your best life hun’ comment. Followed by a paragraph about why her chemically process smoothie, was a healthier way to start the day, than a smoothie made with actual fruit and vegetables.

Also FM is dog shite. The smell barely lasts.

I've noticed an explosion of FM perfume huns on my fb at the moment...the packaging is awful....it looks like something sold at the pound shop...as if you'd want that on your dressing tableConfused

Arbonne and Younique are scams. Unless you Debye you're entire day and evening, you won't succeed. They rely on recruiting. There was a documentary not long ago that exposed them.
Wish I could find the link.

An ex neighbour of mine became very unpleasant when she started her Aloe business... she'd rant on my doorstep for ages about how stupid I was to not consider it. It became very embarrassing.
Also, an ex colleague started ploughing her Body Shop business.
I like some Body Shop stuff and I'd order stuff every now and again. Strangely enough none of my orders were fulfilled as various bits were out of stock. When I went into a branch of The Body Shop to see if they had a particular item I was told that it had been discontinued some time previously.
It made me wonder.

A friend at work started selling body shop about a year ago I ordered a few bits. Since then she posts constantly on social media and has recruited 4 other people from work to be on her team and they are trying to recruit more people. I worked out on a department of 120 people there is 6 body shop sellers, 3 people selling perfume that’s just like the real thing, 2 people doing Avon, 2 people doing personalized products like wine glasses, 2 doing Chocolate hampers/reindeer hot chocolate/reindeer food and one person selling some random herbs. They all have around 75 friends in common they are all trying to recruit the same people to join their little teams and live their best lives. It is dull.

I was waiting for the punchline and a partridge in a pear 🍐 tree 🌳.

@CleverCatty Sorry but I disagree. I've used Lancôme mascara in the past (and it's probably what I'd go back to if Arbonne was no more) but I prefer my Arbonne one. Each to their own.

Tropic is ridiculously expensive and the people selling it are total predators. As soon as anyone turns up on my local mums group asking does anyone know a good remedy for sunburn/eczema/random other child's skin complaint someone will be there in a flash saying Tropic does an amazing soothing balm hun, then they'll drop in as an afterthought that they just happen to sell it just send them a PM!

Best thing is the Tropic ladies have somehow been convinced it isn't an MLM because the products are supposedly really good (haven't tried them because like fuck would I spent £38 on a skin cream from an MLM)

Just last night DP started telling me about his friend’s wife who had just started up a brilliant new business selling imitation fragrances 🙄 He’s very into expensive aftershave (and has a tendency to be slightly naive) so was very impressed. I quickly put him right.

I’m so disappointed to see Neals Yard have gone down the MLM route. I used to be a very loyal customer but not anymore
