Christmas present ideas AIBU

Shamelessly posting on AIBU for Christmas present ideas.

I was wondering if you had any ideas for what to get this year due to Covid restrictions?

I normally get things like experiences, rather than proper wrapped-up presents, for a couple of my family members, as they prefer this. Due to Covid, theatres and restaurants won’t necessarily be open regularly over the next few months, so just wondering what to get them instead.

Anyone else in the same boat? Would be really interested to read your ideas.

Thanks!

National trust membership, they can use it once things start to re-open?

Get the theatre vouchers. Help keep them foing till they can open again.

A food hamper, such as cheese with chutneys and biscuits, wine, a recipe book with some of the obscure ingredients.

A couple of DVDs with popcorn, sweets and a bottle of wine.

Voucher for a Zookeeper For A Day, or Animal Experience.

Discovery pocket walking trail books.
Online trails.
Vouchers for GoOutdoors to go towards trecking kit.

I have the same problem, OP. Usually go for experiences but can't do them this year. Theatre vouchers don't expire though, so could be an option?

Hey, It's difficult this year. I was thinking of either creating an experience at home like a cocktail experience/ cooking virtually or doing hampers.

I'm leaning towards the hampers as I've seen some good options online that deliver straight to them, assuming they aren't living with you? This lady local to me does them custom and delivers so let me know if you want the link- she's on instagram mainly I think.

Amazon do some cheap ones too www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002V47WPO/ref=as_li_tl?linkCode=as2&linkId=d6c64bd12c9c81792726489cc5f53d8d&creativeASIN=B002V47WPO&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8&creative=6738&camp=1634

Normally I get my Dad a night at a nice restaurant. This year, I’m contemplating a voucher for a food delivery service.

gallery membership?

I was looking at this the other day www.booksthatmatter.co.uk/order-subscription/

Someone else posted the other day. 12 books. One a month for the year. Magazine subscription perhaps

I'm also struggling. I like receiving experiences rather than gifts and also like giving them to some people who have similar preferences. As salons are still open I'm thinking of asking for vouchers that I can use for a manicure/eyebrows etc. Going to ask people what they would like in lieu of usual vouchers

Salons aren't still open though are they? Pretty sure they shouldn't be

Thanks so much for your ideas everyone! I think I might get people things like chocolate subscriptions and flower subscriptions, as well as food delivery vouchers. Would still definitely be interested if anyone has any more ideas :)
