To think neighbours should pay for fence

The garden boundary on the side we are responsible for is half the neighbours garage wall and half a fence which we have recently paid £800 to be replaced. Neighbours are now going to knock down garage and have asked how quickly we can put a fence up. I think if they’re taking down the existing boundary wall (actually their garage wall) they should replace it with a fence. Not sure what is correct legally does anyone know please?

What about a ghost fence? Squirrel skulls, sharks’ teeth, pictures of Donald Trump?

Thanks all. The suggestions to leave that garage wall and just take it down a bit shorter might be viable I will mention that to them. We would want a fence for security and our side gate post is currently bolted to garage wall so will need sorting out soonish. I’ll Cheekily say they should leave that wall as it’s our boundary And take it from there. Fingers crossed!

This is a great idea. They’ve got 2 babies so it might scare them and push them to build a fence
