AIBU to ask what you’re buying your 8 year old boys?

Just that really. He’s not long since had his birthday & we’re utterly stumped. He’s at that awkward between toys & consoles stage.

He hasn’t really asked for anything 🤦‍♀️

Ds wants a switch game and some Mario lego. I also got him a safe dartboard and a wack a mole type game. Still need to get a few bits.

3 main things are
Vtech smart watch
Gaming chair
Fortnite play set and figures

Going to get him a new head set too as he enjoys talking to his school friends online

All we have bought so far is Mario Lego and some fancy marbles
Probably a game for the Switch

Nintendo switch and Minecraft clams for my 8yo. He has classic autism (so ASD plus learning difficulties) and other diagnoses too, and this is the first Christmas since he was 8 months old that we have given him anything that would be seen as chronological age appropriate. Not that it matters, and it may never happen again, but it’s a big thing for us

Ds is 8 in a week and for Christmas/birthday he's getting:

Two different nerf guns
A drone with a camera
Headset for the PS4
A couple of jellycat toys
PS4 t shirt, joggers and pjs
Current Arsenal top
Have got him a cool bath toy (he still loves his toys in the bath!)
Some bath bombs from mrs snowballs bubble boutique plus other stocking fillers

If he would like the spy kit then Melissa and Doug do a cool one that both my dc loved

@IsaInTheLift it's this one I got it when it was £10 in Argos. He likes to act all grown up and says he only likes fortnite and football but when he gets in the bath that's all forgotten

That looks awesome! My 8 yo still loves toys in the bath.

A desk, a rug, a bedding set, a glow in the dark cushion, some books, a hoody, a lamp. He also has asd and thats what he's asked for. My little old grandpa bless him

Anyone who's getting the Lego Mario for Christmas, you need to get the starter set (with Mario in it) to get full use of the other smaller sets. The other sets all have scanning points that Mario can scan off.

(I didnt know this when I bought for ds birthday and bought a smaller set only. Luckily my dsis had bought the starter set with Mario in it. He cant be purchased separately).

My ds is the same aswell, he also has asd. He never asks for toys and doesnt really play with them, he never has. (Which somehow makes me want to buy him more as he is so innocent).
