Always thought I wasnt a believer of star signs but my friend swears by them and read me mine,going through key characteristics and each and every one of them are accurate.i suppose it could be argued that we all have a little of every personality type in each of us but specifically we are characterised by a set of certain traits. I'm a Virgo in case your wondering. Personality traits which I've found are specific to the Virgo star sign which include but arent limited to are
I'm over critical of my self at all times
I'm a perfectionist who pays attention to detail
I care immensely about loved ones and would go out of my way to help them ,even if it were to my detriment
I punish myself relentlessly for the littlest of things which I perceive as personal character flaws
I would never ask for help
I'm extremely hard working
Extremely analytical
A Do'er I dont procrastinate
Focused
Positive but prone to bouts of severe worry

Mysterious - no, I talk way too much

Determined - nah, usually can't be bothered if it's going to be a lot of work
Stubborn - much prefer to compromise if it makes everyone's life easier
Sexy - mousy
Argumentative - I hate conflict, arguments make me cry
Jealous - Nope, I never compare myself to other people
Ambitious - Just happy to bimble along with a reasonable work-life balance

I’m a Scorpio too and am definitely determined, argumentative (but not in a weird way, like I don’t start rows with strangers, but I am a litigator so I guess I do like arguing a point) and sometimes jealous, but my son is really similar and he’s a Virgo. I’m not stubborn at all, not particularly sexy, not mysterious at all and not really passionate either, in fact if anything I’m pretty controlled and calm. I do believe star signs to be total nonsense I’m afraid.

I do believe in personality and behaviour types, and have found such tests very useful for understanding myself and others. They have their limitations, yes, but I think most of their critics don't read and take account of the limitations that are built into the models.

But then my personality type is one that thinks that star signs are absolute bullshit. Yes, there are personality types, no, they're not determined by your date of birth.

There's been speculation star signs were all wrong. Now they are thinking they were never right! The sun is not in your zodiac at the time you thought it was for Virgo.

Because I am exactly like that and also a Leo.

Which I guess makes sense in terms of Leo being the lion sign and that's basically what lions and cats are like!

I’m born slap bang in the middle of Taurus and am very much like the typical Taurean description. DH is also a Taurean but has a few less traits apart from fucking stubbornness, we are both bloody stubborn as hell but I wouldn’t base my life on it.

Yeah I could apply all of that to me as well and my birthday is May. And DD would say it applies to her, and her birthday is January.

Okay...but if January = Capricorn and May = Taurus then that would actually make sense.

As Virgo, Capricorn & Taurus are all Earth signs and therefore share a lot of traits in common.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't, for example, read the Leo write up and think 'that could also be me'.

According to real astrologists your birth chart is what really matters. It isn't as simple as "I'm a Virgo so X,Y and Z. There are 12 houses with potentially different signs in each of them that 'influence' different parts of your life etc.

Religion is regularly questioned, both on here and everywhere else in life. Where did you get the impression that religion is universally accepted and immune to criticism?

Hmmmm - doesn’t seem to work at all for my family. I’ve just had a look at a list of traits for each one.

Me - Leo. Doesn’t sound at all like me. I fit the Virgo pretty exactly though.
Dh - Libra. Not at all like him. He is pretty decisive. He is most similar to a Taurus.
Dd - Aries. Not too bad but not really her. She also fits the Virgo pretty exactly.
Ds - Gemini. Not at all him. He doesn’t really fit any to be honest (as Dh puts it there isn’t a “forgets to flush the toilet” one). Sagittarius is probably closest.

So I have to admit I’m not 100% convinced!

Allegedly I am a Sagittarius with a Cancer rising and Aquarius moon, whatever it all means. Boyfriend is a Capricorn.
