To ask about your experience with citalopram

I've finally given in and accepted that I need something medicinal to help me cope with my anxiety which has steadily been getting worse over the past few years. I've never taken anti depressants or anti anxiety medication so don't really know what to expect.

My GP has prescribed me 10mg citalopram. I know this might not be a magic cure but I'm hoping it will help with the panic and physical symptoms I've been been experiencing from anxiety. Can anyone tell me how or if it worked for them? Thank you.

Hi, I know its been a year since u posted so not holding out much hope of a reply. But I just wanted to see how u got in with citalopram ? I have anxiety and my biggest problem is the physical side of it. Diarrhea and throwing up. Iv been prescribed 10mg so start off with. I really want this to be my miracle but am so sceptical also. I'm practically housebound.

Exactly the same. My anxiety absolutely halted my life for almost a year in 2013. I've been on 40mg since then.

I have been taking this medication since I was 19 due to panic attacks, anxiety & dissociation that came from my brother being diagnosed with a terrible mental health disorder.
