Window condensation

How can I prevent this? I seriously don't remember growing up with condensation on the windows.

With cold days now, every morning I am waking up to condensation on the windows, I've read it's the hot air touching the cold windows which is the result of condensation. I hate having to clean off the water every morning form all the windows, they are big bay windows.

Any helpful suggestions welcome!

Second vote for a PIV system. My house is ex council, and like all others on the estate had a terrible damp/condensation problem.
Tried those mini dehumidifier boxes and a large portable one, neither worked. Had vented tiles out in roof, still didn’t help.
A builder friend recommended a PIV unit, and since it’s been fitted I no longer have to constantly scrape running water off my windows all day long. The unit is small and sits on ceiling upstairs.
Only Downside: during winter it blows up cold air even though it has two temperature settings. In summer it blows out very hot air but you don’t need it on then.
No, I don’t work for them or get commission. But they do definitely work. £500 very well spent.

@diamond4u ps OP you need to have trickle vents on your windows for it to work.

Fill a long sock with cat litter, wrap an elastic band round the closed end and put it on the sill. Does the trick nicely. Add googly eyes to brighten it up.

Reducing temperature indoors means indoor air can't hold as much water as it could when it was warmer, so should also reduce condensation. Except then you go and breathe whilst asleep and it all gets wet again! Which is what happens to us!

No matter how cold we keep the room WE provide both the warmth and the moisture over night!

So we have heavy curtains, barrier to our breath and its moisture, and a Karcher window vac!

Dehumidifier goes on as we leave the room!

Dehumidifier but make sure you get one that’s manufactured in the UK so that it works properly in our climate (as opposed to a humid country).

We have one downstairs in the hall running for several hours during day but off at night. Seems to have solved the problem. If I leave it running too long my skin feels a little dry.
