Did anyone else get an email saying they’re “extremely clinically vulnerable” when they’re not?!

Posting for traffic, sorry...

So yesterday I receive an official email from Department of Health to say that I should shield during this period of lockdown as I’m ‘extremely clinically vulnerable’. Except I’m not.

I had the all clear for cancer 6 weeks ago after 5 years of check ups. I only had surgery 5 years ago, no chemo, no radiotherapy.

My cancer is not on the government list and I have no other condition on the list. I’m a teacher and want to be at work. GP none the wiser.

Just interested if this has happened to anyone else? 😊

Yes. My child did

You ring your gp and explain and they can take you off

Yes, I was shielded last time, until my GP reviewed me and removed me from the list. My consultant says I don't need to shield, but I do need to be extra careful. So I was a bit surprised to get the email.

Congratulations on the all clear.

I haven't this time around but did get wrongly contacted during the first lockdown. I'm a borderline case between the CV and ECV lists but my hospital consultant (whose advice I trust most) advised I should be on the CV list. My GP however was adamant I should shield and I ended up having to get written "permission" from my consultant before she'd take me off the list. I know I could have ignored the letters but personally I found them quite anxiety-inducing (although I know others find them a source of comfort / feel more protected etc)...
