If things open back up In December, will you be taking your kids on Christmas days out?

Such as theme parks done up for Xmas, safari parks, Father Christmas visits, holidays even?

@sausagedoglove

Sorry, it's been a decade since I moved from London and has lost all the perspective of a city dweller! That's gonna be pretty tricky to do any of the things I suggested in yours and many many others people circumstances. I didn't mean to sound so entitled in my post.

@halliehallie9828

It will if you staff then up with chocolate and get booze for grown ups (responsible amount!!)Grin

I am beginning to feel really sorry for the all the children that belong to the posts that say no, what kind of christmas is it going to be for them

Hilarious.

DS will only be 20 months, and as Covid is raging we hadn’t planned anything except a booked visit to see Father Christmas. Fingers crossed that still takes place.

Otherwise no special plans- saving Santa train and Christmas at Kew etc til he’s old enough to enjoy it. Might go to a National Trust house or two that are done up for Christmas, and would go to Christingle and church throughout Advent.

Don’t think we’ll risk booking more paid events though this year; not worth the risk. Will do panto etc in years to come, God willing.

PatchworkElmer · 04/11/2020 21:22

I’ve booked a Santa train (private compartment) and also a Christmas outdoor forest trail. Will do both if they’re still going ahead, and the infection rate doesn’t rocket around here.

Sunshiney1981 · 04/11/2020 21:26

Don’t think our usual activities will be on eg grotto, steam train, Xmas fayre, Christingle, Xmas markets ☹️
But yes, IF there are any on I’ll be taking my DC. They deserve a bit of a life and a bit of fun.

Outdoor stuff of course - there are virtually no outdoor transmission cases.

Indoor stuff nonono.

I wonder what visiting Father Christmas would be like

I’ve had two booked for a while but they’re both outdoors. One is an English Heritage trail and the other is at a similar local estate where they do a 12 Days of Christmas trail. I won’t be doing anything indoors. I don’t bother with the Santa visits anyway, it’s just a waste of money. I did it for about 3 years when my older ones were small but they always screamed at Santa and I found it all a bit weird anyway.
