Obviously came to mind from another thread.
I don't have a specific year that was my worst, I've had loads that were terrible. I've also had loads that were amazing.

I'll go with 2019, incredible holiday in February to the Icehotel in Sweden, where my husband proposed, whirlwind 6 months of planning a wedding and an incredible wedding in August and holiday to the Lake district with our pups.

Next year may change that though as our baby is due in May!

It's hard to say - when I look back, it often seems that part of a year was really good but the rest wasn't. I have happy memories of 1979, 1990 and parts of 1994 and 2007. The rest has been shite.

SpeccyLime · 04/11/2020 09:55

2015, maybe. I finished my degree, got married, started my dream job and my husband and I were, for the first time in our shared lives, financially secure. I also met two girls who would go on to be best friends of mine.

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 04/11/2020 10:02

1999 is up there. Gap year, making money, nights out with mates. Came to uni, made friends, got a boyfriend (I was a very late starter, fancying me in secondary school would be social suicide), fell hard. World ahead of me.

It continually went down after that unfortunately, lost all that, then ups and downs along the way, but happy now, have DH, DD (born in 2018 also a happy year but hard!)

DisgruntledPelican · 04/11/2020 10:05

2018 for me. A range of work and personal life achievements, which led on to me becoming pregnant in 2019.

timeforawine · 04/11/2020 10:10

Best year was 2016, went to the Seychelles and our daughter was born.
Behind that maybe 2014 when we went to Canada and New Zealand

youdidask · 04/11/2020 10:29

1996

MaverickDanger · 04/11/2020 10:30

2009/2010.

Lived abroad, was earning decent money, met my best friends for life and met now DH.

AnotherEmma · 04/11/2020 10:35

Probably 2012, the year DH and I went on two brilliant holidays, and on the second holiday he proposed.
Not 2013, the year we got married, even though our wedding day was probably the happiest day of my life, because the rest of the year was pretty shit.

KiriAndLou · 04/11/2020 10:38

Oh gosh, I don't know. Lots have been good but there's no one that stands massively out. Maybe I've not had it yet?

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 04/11/2020 10:38

This year. Just bought my dream home.

angieb89 · 04/11/2020 10:40

Would it be crazy to say 2020?

Got married in January. Got pregnant straight away. Find out were having twins. Bought our first house. Had the twins. And moving in to our new place within the month.

Fortunate that covid hasn't affected us at all as we were both still working albeit at home, lost no one, I was so heavily pregnant Lockdown was actually what I needed.

So yes, I'm crazy, I'm going to go with 2020 :)

Coffeeoverload · 04/11/2020 10:40
  1. Just kidding 😩 Maybe 2002 living and studying abroad. Loved it!
PrimeraVez · 04/11/2020 11:34

2003 - gap year, lots of partying, making new friends, no cares or worries, meet now-DH

2007 - study year abroad, lots of partying, making new friends, laughing every day until i cried

2015 - newlywed, lots of disposable income, went on some incredible holidays, got pregnant with DC1 and existed in a (naive) pregnant bubble of prenatal yoga classes, prenatal spa treatments and long lie-ins

TheDowagerDuchessofMwwwahaha · 04/11/2020 11:44

2018 probably - the year I was able to finally leave exh!

updownroundandround · 04/11/2020 11:44

1986, living in London and partying as hard as I was working.Grin
Did a lot of travelling in the late 80's and early 90's. Lots of short trips to cities and some long trips (months) at amazing destinations.
Mid 90's discovered my ideal job and did my degree to qualify for this job. I still love the job.
The years when my DC were born and my successes at work were amazing.
I could honestly say that I've completed more than 1 bucket list Grin, so now I'm part way through my current bucket list.........Grin

I advise everyone to try to live the life they want, and to never let an obstacle to that become the reason you stop trying.

TheDowagerDuchessofMwwwahaha · 04/11/2020 11:44

1997 was a good year too

Hoppinggreen · 04/11/2020 11:46

2001
Turned 30, had a great job, got married, moved into a lovely house.
Had lots of lovely friends and work colleagues too.

WankPuffins · 04/11/2020 11:49

I was 25, my Ds was 3. I was married to my ex husband. Owned our own house, had no money worries, I had a group of friends. We had lots of lovely parties. It was great.

(2006 it all went down hill and has been getting worse every year, there has been no let up. Each new year now I just think what the fuck will this one bring).

1FootInTheRave · 04/11/2020 11:49

1999 was good fun. Clubbing and at 6th form.

2003 was brill. Met my husband and had a bloody ball.

Lsquiggles · 04/11/2020 11:51

2018 for sure! My and my dp went on 2 lovely holidays, lots of days out in the nice weather, bought our first house and got pregnant with our first dd Smile
