To wonder why appointments for mental health conditions are never mentioned

Boris usually mentions medical appointments and other NHS services but never mental health. I’ve got two children under mental health services one under Camhs and the other under adult services. None of them have seen their worker since February.

He's a politician? He doesn't want to draw attention to just how spectacularly bad support for mental health is, particularly for children.

Aren't they counted as medical appointments?

Camhs appointments are health appointments. In my area they are still seeing patients. High risk ones are seen in person & others virtually.
You need to be asking your camhs why they aren’t being seen.
Boris probably doesn’t even know what camhs is!

They come under medical appointments. I'm still seeing my therapist next week as normal.

I think CAMHs are letting children down hugely.

I have one with a significant mental illness( off school and under psychiatrist, suicidal) who hasn’t seen anybody since March. Video calls with psychiatrist they know causes anxiety.

Other child has been hospitalised twice which is the only time he has seen anybody face to face. Meeting tomorrow-hospital staff in person, CAMHs will only attend by video. Many teens find video distressing. It’s quite shameful. Schools and hospitals are dealing with larger numbers of children face to face why can’t Camhs? One wonders if it because mental health isn’t deemed as important.
