to think that a 'friend' should get in touch at times other than when she wants something

YG I have "friends" like that

I have found I am always a "listener" ie listen to all their problems but as soon as I have something to say they are busy

I am used to it now but soemtimes I do get upset.

I think everyone probably has people in their life like that, don't they?

Hope you are ok?

LOL I occasionally get phonecalls that go "Hello how are you my boys are really ill, I've been really bust, not very well myself, got a new dog, well, I've nothing else to tell you, best go bye!"

No pauses, etc. I feel like telling her I need a friend, not a series of status reports.

Hope tomorrow goes OK YG

Perhaps the best thing is to be busy when she wants your help next time and then she may realise you are not at her beck and call iyswim

I have one of those as well, only time she phones is when she wants me to feed her cat/mind her kids/tell me about how her affair is going......

I don't bother phoning her anymore, but stupidly I always do whatever favour she needs.
