Can I have a space to moan about DH doing feck all?

I was working all weekend - 12 hour shifts as a nurse. My husband was on days off. I've got up this morning to get my son ready for school and no washing has been done, his tie has done a disappearing act and no homework done.

No packed lunch made, in fact, old sandwich still in it from Friday.

Husband recently had two weeks off work for school holidays, and not one load of washing done over 14 days!

Aibu or is that just not good enough?

Of course it’s not good enough but surely you’ve noticed before now that the place is a tip and no laundry done? How come you haven’t given him a kick up the backside before now?

It’s massively unfair but when I was in your position some years ago I had to give DH clear instructions on what I wanted done.

Nanny0gg · 02/11/2020 09:59

So what's your plan?

Shoxfordian · 02/11/2020 10:01

No of course it isn't good enough
What are you going to do about it?

RhodaDendron · 02/11/2020 10:04

It is massively unfair and it’s not your job to ‘notice these things earlier’ when you’ve been working 12 hour shifts! Vent away op.

Nottherealslimshady · 02/11/2020 10:04

Start doing your own washing and he'll figure it out when he has no pants left.
How olds your son? Old enough to know he has homework to do?
It's their problem, not yours, I'd get DH out of bed to sort the packed lunch out and DS can do homework in the car or get told off for it. Valuable lessons for them both.

Not good enough, and agree it shouldn't be your job to notice if you've been working 12 hour shifts
