To ask what and how many school trips private schools go on?

I was just wondering what the difference was in educational trips between state and private schools?

My DD is in a state primary and goes on one trip a year in the summer term. First year was the seaside, second year was the zoo, third year was a viking museum.

What types of trips and how many a year does your private school child go on? Pre-covid, obviously Grin

Local state primary has a policy of learning from / in the locality so the parents sign a blanket agreement for walking trips out of school anytime (subject to appropriate staffing, clothing and risk assessments). All classes Reception to Y5 go out of school at least once a fortnight (sometimes weekly or more) to visit a local wood, or the beach, or visit the museum or art gallery, ordo a traffic survey, or sketch on the cliff top or whatever. They take any opportunity to take any subject area off site with as little fuss as possible. These are all zero cost outings.

In a normal year, each class also does at least a termly day visit usually a bit further away.

There is a 3 day outdoor activity residential available in Y3/4, and a week's stay in Y5/6, alternating with a foreign trip. The school fund raises to support any child who wants to go to take part in these trips, up to 100% funding.
