Career 1 - secondary school teacher
Career 2 - HR Officer

I changed because I could earn more money for less hours and less stress. Having my evenings and weekends free was a revelation!

I was a Risk Analyst for a huge Amerian IT Corp. After having my children I returned to a very hostile environment -anyone who didn't sacrifice their family at the corporate altar (including men) was deemed a dimwit, waste of space slacker. So I left, retrained, set up as self-employed and now run x3 businesses. I left beacuse what I had to offer had no value attached to it and I suspect if I tried for employment now I would be viewed the same way. Society thinks mothers have no brains/skills and nothing to offer. I refuse to subscribe to that bull and have never been happier, or looked back!

Worked same job in admin for nearly 30 years. I really loved that job, made some good friends. Then made redundant, it was a tough time.
Now work in a special needs school. Felt completely out of my depth at first and struggled a bit, but persevered and now love it! It's less money but fits around my hectic home life so much better.
