to try to think of some positives without offending?

Last time I was pretty privileged in lockdown, having a secure job, garden etc.
This time will be harder as I am an outdoorsy kind of person and will find it hard being unable to swim and socialise. I will have to cancel dc birthday plans and a wkd away too.
I am trying to think of things I may be able to do more of this lockdown which could be good.

  • reading
  • running
  • writing
  • DIY
  • sitting in front of a fire...
Is there anything you might do more of in lockdown which is positive? (No judgement from me, if you want to rant and moan that's fine too).

I started decorating and then I lost the will to live interest. I'll probably finish what I started. Like you I swim, so I will have to run again.

Gym via zoom, sewing jobs I've been putting off, Christmas shopping. Might start a crochet project.

Things I would if I didn’t have a one yer old. Baking, crafting, winter clear out, online shopping, hot chocolate and movies, board games. Just think of like a really homely Christmas Day and all the prep but then spread the activities out 1 a day.

It's good to do what you're doing - trying to stay positive. Helps the immune system. Obviously it's not so easy for many, but that's not your fault and you suffering too would help nobody.

Very important thing to do during this lockdown:

Baking the Christmas cake.

No more getting dragged out and about to pointless activities. I always pictured retirement as sitting in front of the telly and reading or doing crosswords and lockdown will let me do just that without interference

There are a few jobs around the house I want to do (a window needs to be resealed, I want to go over the bathroom grout with a whitening pen, the autumn leaves are clogging up the outside drain and gutters and need to be cleared). I think keeping myself busy will be really beneficial for me personally.

I know a lot of people are worried about being locked down while the weather is pants but I actually think I’d prefer it. In spring during lockdown we had some really lovely days when I felt sad that I wasn’t in a pub garden, or having a bbq with friends, or at the beach, or popping over to a friend’s house for a spontaneous aperol spritz. If it’s raining and cold and dark I won’t feel that way, and I don’t think I’ll mind being shut indoors when there’s no much else I could be doing outdoors anyway.

Im not offended by other's positivity but I am so done with the whole thing. Nothing apart from sleeping that I like to do involves being indoors in my own home. I have no garden its going to be pissing with rain and I have a very active 4 year old. For me there are no positives in this.

I have a novel to finish (writing not reading) and I will probably repaint my archway murals with winter scenes for Christmas. I have a tapestry to finish too.

Online Christmas shopping. I became a supermarket slot ninja last time Grin

I'm housebound though, so this is my life anyway.
