Please don't moan that i'm selfish for wanting these things, just want to know if they'll be going ahead/open or not.

@GroundAlmonds sounds like something a fan of Johnson would say, doesn’t it?

The govt consists of more than boris. For the govt to allow the country to find out we’re going into lockdown this way is shameful.

Versace104 · 31/10/2020 18:16

I've come to expect nasty replies on Mumsnet, it's part of the site now.

What does everyone think will happen in regards to kids sports...wondering if my ds will still be able to train with his football team?

Versace104 · 31/10/2020 18:24

I think it's disgusting how many places spent thousands on making themselves a Covid secure business and now having to close again.

In Wales circuit breaker they are all closed except dentists for emergency appointments, I can imagine salons, gyms and driving lessons will all close/stop.

Versace104 · 31/10/2020 18:25

I hope they do let sports go ahead and keep gyms open. There's only so much walking/jogging people can do !

Maireas · 31/10/2020 18:26

Gyms will close. Only essential shops and schools remain open.

Bathroom12345 · 31/10/2020 18:27

With regard to driving tests. DS had his test in May 20 which was obviously cancelled. When it all opens up again you are likely to get a special route to rebook. Be flexible especially with the actual test centre. You will probably get a few weeks to practise, Literally flood the area with practise runs and look at You Tube for that test centre.

Remember that if they come back after 40 mins they have probably passed. My DS did! However the trainee before him came back after less than 5 mins. Apparently if you make a major fault the test is terminated for CV19 reasons and you go back to the test centre.

Dentists are expecting to be allowed to stay open as we have all necessary PPE and SOP now. May go to less elective procedures.
Hope “Prof” Hurley gets out of bed tomorrow and tells us one way or another!

Because I’ve the wit to understand he didn’t leak against himself and put himself under extra pressure? Because of that I’m a fan of his?

What a strange black and white view of the world you have.

Versace104 · 31/10/2020 18:29

It's awful, driving lessons were stopped for 4 months this year already, I mean it sounds minor but it's everything combined, now basically you must work but don't see anyone or have any fun/any sort of leisure.
Oh well, we 'must protect the NHS'

My poor hairdresser. He worked so hard to open up CV19 safe. Now this again. Anyone who has an appointment in the next month is likely to be banging on his door come beginning Dec but the rest of us have already booked in the run up to Xmas.

Maybe it’s back to cutting my own fringe which never goes well.

Bickles, do you know if that includes orthodontists? I'm most of the way through fixed braces treatment, and I don't really want to have to miss any more appointments Grin
AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 31/10/2020 18:32

@Bathroom12345 my next appointment isn’t until 18th December but who actually believes it will only last until beginning December?

Lemonsyellow · 31/10/2020 18:35

Gyms will close, along with most things that are classed as leisure, I assume.
chickydoo · 31/10/2020 18:36

New glasses being made..,God I hope I can pick them up this week...I can't see

TeenPlusTwenties · 31/10/2020 18:36

I'm relieved DD got her braces off this week after 3 years, so at least I don't need to worry about her breaking them and going backwards.

Versace104 · 31/10/2020 18:41

Gyms have been proven to carry a very low risk, are Covid-secure and help people's mental health as well as fitness. Being told to stay at home as much as possible isn't healthy in any shape or form.

@doctorhamster

There's absolutely no point in speculating op, no one can give you the answer.
Doesn't normally stop people on here...
MiaMarshmallows · 31/10/2020 18:47

I understand it as being everything closed but schools, colleges, universities and nurseries as well as supermarkets.

ifiwasascent · 31/10/2020 18:48

Im a dental nurse and we're safer now than ever

letmethinkaboutitfornow · 31/10/2020 18:49

BS started on BBC...

Bubblemonkey · 31/10/2020 18:54

weren't "keywords" allowed to continue with driving lessons last time?

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 31/10/2020 19:30

Same, its a pain

Feellikefrighteningyeah · 31/10/2020 19:38

What happens to kids indoor sport? (Not leisure centre)
