Can inpatients still get parcels delivered by hand or by post?

My mum is in hospital 300+ miles away in a tier 3 area. I know I can't visit, but can I send a parcel and/or arrange for someone living locally to take in some things?

I am in Liverpool if she’s in Liverpool. My husband was in hospital last week and I could get an over night bag in to him xx

Ask the ward.

My Dad was in for about a week, I was able to take belongings etc to him, just had to call the ward from the corridor and someone came out to take things from me.

Yes. You can in the trust I work for anyway.

You can send by post or someone can drop the package to the security guard/Reception at the building entrance.

If you’re looking for ideas on what to include, may I suggest squash? Most of the patients on my ward aren’t keen on the jugs of tap water but the hospital doesn’t provide anything to flavour them with 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I've sent things to my mum by Moonpig and Amazon. They arrived just fine. Things can also be dropped off at reception. Dad puts together weekly packs of drinks, sweets and grapes and delivers to reception.
