Of course not! You have to isolate for 14 days as a direct contact of someone positive. You could test negative every day into day 14 when you get ill and would have been spreading virus the previous 2 days. A negative test doesn’t mean you won’t develop it

Yerroblemom1923 · 31/10/2020 02:33

No. Because your husband tested positive you have to self isolate for 14 days. Track and trace should've contacted you to explain this.

Aquamarine1029 · 31/10/2020 02:34

Of course you can't work.

MrsEricBana · 31/10/2020 02:35

No

IdblowJonSnow · 31/10/2020 02:37

Nope. Definitely not.

vodkaredbullgirl · 31/10/2020 02:37

No

mrsgrinchh · 31/10/2020 02:39

Just double checking I thought so just wasn't sure as mine are negative.

Op, my daughter tested positive on a Wednesday, I got tested the next day I was negative. Had loads more symptoms 4 days later and was retested. It was positive. You need to stay home.

Siepie · 31/10/2020 02:53

No! Even if you're negative, you could catch it from him between now and starting work!

Tadpolesandfroglets · 31/10/2020 02:55

No.

mrsgrinchh · 31/10/2020 03:03

I spoke to my manager yesterday evening telling her I was coming back and OH got his text at 10pm saying positive haven't had a call from track and trace is he supposed to?

OP posts:
ChasingRainbows19 · 31/10/2020 03:12

It takes a while for track and trace it’s not immediate, it it happens.
Don’t need track and trace for you, if you live with someone positive you isolate for 14 days regardless of a negative test for you. You could develop symptoms in a weeks time.

rottiemum88 · 31/10/2020 03:41

I started with symptoms and had a test mine was negative OH has no symptoms and his have came back positive.

Why did your partner have his test in the first place if he had no symptoms? And in answer to your original question, no you can't go to work now. You need to self isolate, having been in close contact with someone who you know has tested positive.

mrsgrinchh · 31/10/2020 03:44

@rottiemum88 he's a delivery driver so when he seen me coughing my guts up he thought it was best that he had it done otherwise he would of been infecting a lot of people.

Ghosts2020 · 31/10/2020 03:58

If you live with someone who's positive you still have to isolate, I work in covid testing and there are many false negatives for any number of reasons especially if home tested.

ArtemisFido · 31/10/2020 04:23

Of course you need to isolate if your husband is positive. Why would you even think you wouldn’t need to? Have you been hiding under a rock since March?

mrsgrinchh · 31/10/2020 04:28

@ArtemisFido as I said I was just double checking as mine came back negative their is no need to be rude

OP posts:
AlwaysCheddar · 31/10/2020 07:17

You had two tests in almost as many days, the second was a waste. Jyst isolate ffs.

Gizlotsmum · 31/10/2020 07:20

If you had symptoms he shouldn't he have been self isolating as part of your household?!

NoAngel1 · 31/10/2020 07:22
@rottiemum88 he's a delivery driver so when he seen me coughing my guts up he thought it was best that he had it done otherwise he would of been infecting a lot of people.
He should have just isolated with no test until/unless he got symptoms. As soon as a family member gets symptoms you all isolate. No need for tests unless you have symptoms.

Thisismylife1 · 31/10/2020 07:25

I’m glad you’re checking on here but honestly it’s very clear on the Government website. It’s not like this bit has changed. You must stay home for 14 days and not leave!! No wonder there’s so much Covid around

Sally872 · 31/10/2020 07:28

Yours came back negative which confirms your cough wasn't covid that day. Because you are sharing a house with someone who has tested positive you may be carrying covid yet not showing symptoms yet so you must isolate for 14 days. Partner must isolate for 10 days (possibly longer if still has a temp after 10 days)

Silvershimmering · 31/10/2020 07:42

Thank the lord everyone here has given the correct information.

Isolate at home for 14 days. This is now law.

Your husband will be invited to complete his details on line, if not he will be contacted, as will you, if your details are given.

It’s an offence not to provide details.

Because of the huge numbers of people there may be a short delay.

Silvershimmering · 31/10/2020 07:44

Sorry, read lots on govt website too.

To many people just don’t care

Silvershimmering · 31/10/2020 07:44

Too* many
