I know to some here a bog brush is Unreasonable in itself but what do you think about filling the holder with cleaning fluid and keeping it there between uses?

Have started to use a silicone brush. Much better so far, stays cleaner and dries really quickly.

SomeSmotheringDreams · 30/10/2020 18:59

Having just read the small print on a toilet brush I did not intend to buy, I found: 6.Conceal tweezers:Pick up hairs or pet on floor quickly without use your hands directly.

It is Friday night. Clearly I ought to get out more but I am in Tier 3. 😀

Bleach or toilet duck (other bog cleaners are available) will very quickly rust the metal parts holding the bristles in and then you will have a bog brush that looks like it's full of poop anyway.

Not only that but toilet brushes hold a lot of water so, every time you put it back in the holder, you will be diluting the bleach. This will rapidly lead to inactive stinking bleach that would in essence be a bacterial soup of nastiness.

I was taught, once bleach is diluted, it becomes inactive after 24hrs maximum if kept in a clean bucket or bottle. Don't know if that has been revised since. I don't know how long it would last in a toilet brush holder with a wet poopy brush sitting in it.

I actually have some rust already forming on the handle of my newish Tesco brush 😭

This is my silicone one but I got if for a tenner, had it a couple of years and no sign of rusting!

They're all nicer looking than mine, but have they got tweezers? Grin

zigzagbetty · 03/11/2020 23:17

Could the tweezers be used as a poo knife 🤔Grin

MrsToothyBitch · 04/11/2020 09:31

I flush mine with bleach down the loo and then it gets a bath in hot water and disinfectant every so often. Last time I bought one I had to buy a metal handled one which Wilko might have considered an upgrade but I do not. It has rusted and I'm not impressed.
