To think we should be checking in on buses

Like we do in cafes etc?

Sat here on bus 2 which is a good 40 minutes, having opened all the windows because idiots people keep closing them and it's occured to me it's very weird I'm not registered as being on here? If I tested tonight and was positive for Corona virus wouldn't the people in my bus want to know?

Checking in is presumably about the staff in places as well - they need to know if they've been exposed, but won't always have their phones on them.

I'm a key worker. I use the bus to go to work. The app doesn't work on my phone. If we had to check in on the bus I couldn't go to work. I also can't get supermarket delivery slots. I use the bus to go shopping too.

I was thinking something similar op. I get public transport every day to work. I am amazed by how often I get on to find no windows open. I always open several.

I have my app and bluetooth on, but I'm sure many people don't have the app.

Omg yes Antihop, I'll happily abandon the idea of checking in on buses for all the sensible reasons mentioned and turn it into a rant about the sodding windows.

WHY ARE YOU CLOSING THE WINDOWS YOU GERM LOVING CRAZY PERSON????? I MEAN THE AIR IS ALREADY DAMP FROM YOUR HOT BREATHE AND NOW YOU'VE SHUT THE GOD DAMN WONDOWS

I think it would be a dangerous distraction for the driver if they were to have to take down the details from those who don't have the app and you can't refuse entry, or in this case travel, for someone who doesn't have the app.

Yeah see post above, I've conceded the point.

Now to just get angry about Windows

I share your anger about the windows @SleepingStandingUp
I don't know why the government don't promote the importance of air circulation in reducing risk of transmission.

thing is you have to look at the sign that says to keep them open to close them, and you have to touch them to close them. ggrrrr. even more grumpy when the cleaner got off, i was first on and they were closed. surely they/ driver should be opening them at the start of journeys if they've been closed.
