Cystic chin acne and peri menopause

I know I'm BU and there's bigger issues in the world but does anyone have any suggestions for cystic chin acne.

I'm 45, pretty sure it's hormone related and the GP fobbed me off a few years back so I can't be bothered going back there.

As soon as one lot goes another angry boil appears.

Same boat. About 18 months ago decided to go to a salon and do what they recommended, Chuck eye wincing cash at it and see if there’s any improvement at a year. They recommended a course of 6x dermapen and then medik8 products but basically the best trick was starting a retinol cream at night. It’s great. I think I get fewer spots and those that I get are less angry and rarely cystic. I’m thinking of getting a couple of maintenance dermapen per year as helps with unevenness and pore size. It’s not a miracle cure but enough better for me to feel better. I hope menopause will stop cystic acne!

I have Clindamycin cream on prescription for hormonal chin boils ans it's worked wonders. Before that I had Duac, but I became allergic to that. Definitely ask your GP for something. Apart from being unsightly, my spots were very painful, left scars and were huge. You don't have to put up with this.

SAME. i've been thinking about seeing a dermatologist for a while as my chin acne is really getting me down 😒 I've just signed up for Dermatica after seeing Nadine Baggott & Wayne Goss recommending it. It's an online dermatologist service where you tell them your skin concerns, send pics & they prescribe a formula for you, so not stuff you could just go and buy over the counter. It's too early to say if it's working yet - mine arrived at the weekend so I've only been using it a few days - but worth a try.

Mine is much better with using Nip+Fab Glycolic range, I still get some spots but not the huge painful ones.
