To suggest you check your privacy settings if you think you have rejected cookies on Mumsnet

Mumsnet have moved to a new Consent Platform so you may have recently been asked to re-set your Cookie preferences. If you're inclined to "accept all" then there's no need to read on. If not, then you may have noticed that there is no longer a "Reject All" option and you have to turn all the permissions off individually, including the disingenuous "legitimate interest" cookies. This takes a few minutes, which is ok if you only need to do it once, but are you sure your preferences were saved? Some people are finding that they weren't. To check, scroll down to the bottom of this page and select "Privacy Settings".

Also, at the bottom of page 1 of the cookie settings make sure you select "vendor preferences" because that takes you to a second page where there are around 35 more permissions to reject. See pic.

There's a thread running about this on Site Stuff, and MNHQ are aware - they have a FAQ page answering some (but not all) questions [[https://www.mumsnet.com/info/consent-management-platform-faqs]]. But more Mumsnetters may need to be aware too.

When I checked again, most of them had been switched on again...but it's not just MN doing this - even my employer's website asked me to accept cookies again today. I am off work this week but will be asking questions when I am back on Monday.

Also my local council.

It seems that "reject cookies" = "keep asking until you accept cookies"

Yes, I've been pretty hacked off about this and how long it takes to unclick all the vendors.
It's outrageous if they're not even saved to the next page.
And yes, it's highly dubious to have all the vendors listed on a separate page so users think they are rejecting all, but in fact are not Angry

I'm just following this thread in case it has answers faster than the Site Stuff thread.

This is so annoying. After unclicking everything and pressing submit I stupidly assumed that was it. Having just checked my privacy settings I see my choices were not saved. I've done it again. Checked again and still they have not been saved! Shock Why can't there be a nice 'Reject All' button that actually saves properly??Confused Is it really that difficult?

Because they need you to accept cookies to keep the advertisers happy so it needs to be as difficult as possible. I have a browser extension that I can set to delete all cookies set by a domain as soon as I leave the site.

If it's not a site I need to stay logged into then I have it set to delete any cookies set instantly

I hope @Ginkypig won't mind me copying this from the Site Stuff forum. The problem has been going on for weeks apparently but it seems that Mumsnet would rather sit on its hands and steal our data than do anything about it.

Ginkypig

This has been going on for weeks for anyone who isn’t aware. I know this (and mnhq are happy to let us think it too!) Seems like a new issue but it is not

I am posting a link to the other thread from September where almost the same issues (although some of the toggles now stay off) were going on most of which have not been resolved or even addressed.

This is not new they have been knowingly stealing our data for weeks under the guise of a glitch that they claim they “are working on”

@AuntyPonsonby

No no problem at all infact I am glad that you have highlighted this in an area that is going to be seen by more people! Hopefully once more users know that this is happening and for how long, there will have to be more transparency.

as for you mnhq it will be very very telling if you delete this thread under the guise of a thread about a thread!
