Pelvic pain. Dr said likely nothing. Should I worry?

Sorry for posting in AIBU. Women's health board very quiet... I had a mirena coil fitted 4 weeks or so ago. Been ok apart from continuous bleeding which is to be expected. Last night developed pelvic pain (which I can sometimes feel where my appendix once was) when in certain positions. Twice it had been intense and caught me off guard. Otherwise, not awful, just nagging and annoying. Spoke to GP on the phone this morning and she said the coil is unlikely to be the cause, and she spoke about when she had her coil fitted and she had cramps for months (these aren't cramps). Told me it's probably nothing and to not worry about it. I'm waiting for a scan which was requested a while back to check my coil is in the right place due to some brief heavy bleeding I had. Could be waiting a few weeks for this. AIBU to think that the Dr should have seen me and made sure there's nothing more sinister causing this pain? Or should I just wait it out? Never had pain like this before and I have a gut feeling it's not right.

Always go with your gut, speak to her again or go for a second opinion 🤞🏻

Feel like I've been fobbed off but I struggle so badly with assertiveness.

I agree go with your instinct. You know your own body.

Hmmm I wouldn't be overly concerned but I would bring it up again with a doctor. Sometimes with women's health you can get fobbed off with the whole mysteriousness of periods and contraception, everything gets blamed on them! Maybe raise it to a different doctor without mentioning the coil, random intense pelvic pain doesn't sound good. The doctor may be making assumptions based off the coil information.

Go with your instinct. If you aren't great at being assertive do you have someone else who can be on the call with you? Make sure you get the chance to describe the type of pain plus the other symptoms you've had before. Maybe try and reframe it in your mind? E.g. Try to think of it as you helping the Dr to diagnose what's wrong, not you having to be assertive.
