To ask this doctor to ring sooner rather than later?

I had a hospital appointment in August . I’ve had symptoms since about 2010 that no one has ever been able to get a diagnosis for . I’ve had several
operations, tests etc and never been told what’s causing everything . I had to move house in 2017 due to uni which knocked everything off as changed health board and not able to see same consultant .

I left uni for two years (Jan 2019) to try and get symptoms under control and get some help, moved back home . Was re-referred to consultant again, very long waiting list . Given surgery this time last year, then told I needed more tests again , with Covid those tests weren’t done until August .

Nurse told me after investigations that everything was coming back very abnormal, they have a good idea of what’s wrong (some genetic thing) and consultant will ring me to discuss management/symptom control and how often I’ll need to be reviewed at hospital etc . Nurse suggested I might be looking at inpatient tests yearly for just now etc .

I’m still waiting on that phone call . Phoned the secretary yesterday who said there isn’t a time scale on phone calls but can be anytime from weeks to eighteen months .

If I change health board again, they won’t call back - I’d just be taken off the waiting list .

I’m due to go back to uni in January and I do desperately want to go - if I don’t go back this time I won’t be able to go back at all - but will have to move house again, change health board and so will have to go under a different consultant .

Would it be wrong/U to ask/plead with GP if she can help me, to see if consultant can ring me before January, so that I can go back to uni with a clear diagnosis, and knowing what to do to manage symptoms better?
