Natural menopause help - posting for traffic

I have been advised against taking HRT for menopause as apparently I am a stroke risk. I've been looking at natural supplements but there's so many and I'm a bit bamboozled on what to try. Is anyone using natural supplements and if so, what and does it help?

Could you consider patches. I was moved onto patches as I do 3 or 4 long haul flights a year ------ well I did pre Covid.

I tried every natural remedy with no success, s cannot be of any help on that - sorry.

Sage complex from Victoria health.

Magnesium for sleep.
Vitamin B for energy.
Evening primrose oil for hot flushes. Yet to be tested to its full but suggested by my GP.

Depending on what help you need with ...Acupuncture was a life saver for me. Twice a week, stopped night sweats, hugely reduced hot flushes, and basically stopped me turning into the Hulk!

Acupuncture

I'd get a second opinion. I have a stroke risk and I've had pulmonary embolisms, but I'm on patches and a coil. Going onto HRT protects your bobes and heart, the benefits always outdo the risks for most people. The fact I'm on HRT makes me now consider my stroke risk, so it's now less than it was.

GPs are still under trained in HRT and don't know the new research and options. When the outward symptoms, sweats etc stop, there's still internal consequences going on.

Soy isoflavones.

I've heard evening primrose oil is good

I've been on HRT for 10 years now, and am weaning myself off. I'm also a stroke risk but my doctor weighed up the risk of stroke with the risk to my mental health of hot flushes every 20 minutes (literally - through the night too) and me struggling to work. I tried everything alternative. Nothing worked.

I cut out all sugar and reduce my carbs heavily, and I take magnesium, b vits and soy isoflavones.
Something in that combo works to reduce them from 'omg I'm dying i must fling all my clothes off immediately' to 'oh a flush, some cold water will fool me down', but not sure what.

Additionally I find cotton clothes helps a lot, and at night I wear only a sleeveless vest to bed, and have layers on the bedclothes so I can adapt to the temperature changes easily.

And this probably won't suit every one but I have a fan that is plugged into a wifi socket I can control from shortcuts on my phone/watch so I can turn it on without moving more than an arm. It then goes off automatically an hour later.
