Bob Dylan... My husband was watching rolling thunder revue on Netflix, Omg never knew anything about him before apart from he was an American singer but I think i'm in love!!
If time machines were ever invented i'd go back and kiss him in a heartbeat Blush
I've already listened to about every album I can find, Blonde on blonde is my favorite and I can now say i'm a huge fan!!!
He was gorgeous. Holy shit.

@CutToChase

I severely doubt bob is the animalistic sex type. Probably more of the trembling early finisher sort, before passing out in the fetal position
PMSL. This is EXACTLY what it would be like. He seems way too neurotic to muster a good seeing too.

@AhFiddledeedee

Nah, not for me.

Though Paul Newman and Marlon Brando were good looking in their youth...

And he loved cats 😍

I can't believe I've been on mumsnet for 10 years and this is the first thread I've seen about Bob Dylan. And then it's about his bloomin looks!

He is a genius but he was, as @TheSeedsOfADream says, a shit to Joan Baez and other women. I think Joan has the measure of him now. I saw her in concert and she did one of his songs with one verse imitating him - brilliant! Some of his songs are better sung by her (A hard rain's a gonna fall) but some need his whiny drawl (The Hurricane; Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts).

I bet loads of geniuses are unpleasant to live with - selfish and demanding.

I have a significant other who wrote a book on Dylan and was an expert on him

Me too! Wonder if it’s the same chap?! Shock

JinglingHellsBells · 26/10/2020 16:57

That would be funny @LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett :) I doubt it very much. The one I'm thinking of is mid 70s now.

Navillerax · 26/10/2020 16:57

James Mason and Terence Stamp will always be my favourite 'old time' heartthrobs... both were so gorgeous!

Blood on the Tracks is a masterpiece.

@Iminlovewitharockstar Your post has made me feel positively ancient. I was into Dylan in his hey day .
You must be a mere child :)

Iminlovewitharockstar · 26/10/2020 16:58

I had a listen to diamonds and rust too, Joans voice is beautiful. Wish I could sing like that...

Dave Gilmour when young was the sort of man that would have made my heart stop

:) @Iminlovewitharockstar (and I saw Joan with the cool dude who wrote the book on Dylan :))

JinglingHellsBells · 26/10/2020 17:02

@Iminlovewitharockstar I saw Joan at a venue in N London with the Dylan man and a load of people from NME.
Then we went off in his clapped out car and got fish and chips in the Archway Road and ate them in the car.

BigBadVoodooHat · 26/10/2020 17:02

Definitely not the same one: mine’s first initial was J.

That said, I’d imagine there is no shortage of men of a certain age who are self-proclaimed Dylan ‘experts’ Wink

BigBadVoodooHat · 26/10/2020 17:09

@dolphinpose

Also Robert Plant in his youth, was like a Greek god😝

Yeah, he sort of was, but he was also sort of like Noddy Holder's double. Never quite did it for me. Though he had the best voice of all.

I’ll just leave this here ...
