DF has had a life changing event and needs some real life support I've offered to meet her to be that support we both live in different tier 2 areas very close to a tier1 area which is where we usually meet, we've both had the covid virus and think it's low risk. The cafe doesn't ask if you live in area.
The cafe we're meeting at has screens and we'd not be within 2m of anyone except when the masked staff put the plate down on front of us. This so low risk isn't it. My friend's mental health is more important?

Since March I've followed every rule exactly. But AIBU this once?

@ReneeRol shielding has ENDED

GirlCrush · 26/10/2020 10:20

why can't you meet outside?

KiposWonderbeasts · 26/10/2020 10:22

Meet outside in T2.

You can’t meet in a cafe either. As you both live in a tier 2 area you are not supposed to meet anywhere indoors. You don’t temporarily adopt the rules of the area you happen to be in as you move around, if that were the case there would be no point having tiers.

If you think you need to break the rules and it sounds like you do, it would be better to meet in one of your homes, not expose other people to higher risk.

GirlCrush · 26/10/2020 10:23

@ReneeRol

Go. Ignore the people here trying to guilt trip you over the staff. You're less risk to the staff than other customers that believe they haven't had it yet. If the staff were at any risk themselves, they would be shielding and not working with the public. They need their jobs and your friend needs you.

Meet your friend and give her the support she needs.

vile!!

ignore 'guilt trip' over the staff.....yes because they are there to serve you, they don't matter at all do they

SELFISH SELFISH SELFISH

People are prohibited from socialising with anybody outside their household or support bubble in any indoor setting.

Either obey or break the guidelines and do try to justify it.

God the boards are full of "I'm an exception because" posters.

LIZS · 26/10/2020 15:00

If you live in t2 you can only meet outside even if the location is t1. There are plenty if cafes and pubs where this is possible, or you get take out coffee , go for a walk and find a bench.

You can't meet indoors anywhere without breaking the rules.

If you're going to do it then do it in one of your homes. At least that way you don't come into contact with anyone else.

Leaannb · 26/10/2020 15:12

@Bellabow

Girl rush, we've both had it. It's exceedingly unlikely we could transmit it to the tier 1 area
Its really not. I've had it. I jave no antibodies and no T cell immunity. You can still catch it and pass it on
GirlCrush · 26/10/2020 15:20

No evidence to say you aren’t still a carrier though. None.

PurpleDaisies · 26/10/2020 15:22

Why not meet outside?
