Appropriate age for a teen to go to a concert?

Obviously assuming COVID isn't an issue.

How old were your teens when you let them go to "proper" concerts with their friends? Specifically rock/rap/hip hop (artist in question is Yungblud if that helps).

I was going to concerts at 14 with no bad experiences. But these days the sorts of bands I went to see are all over 18s only. It's ages since I saw a concert that accepted under 18s, unless it's something like Little Mix.

So, if the venue allowed it, I'd probably allow a 15 or 16 year old to go. But I wouldn't allow them to get fake ID to get into an over 18s concert.

But I'm not familiar with Yungblud so I would maybe have a different opinion if it is someone who I'd find problematic...

Venue is 8+ but imo that's way to young so no real guidance there.

My DD is 14 and I’d let her go to a concert if it was reasonably local with friends. I’d probably want to make sure I and/or other parents were dropping and collecting them.

14/15 if I sat in the car park & waited on them.

As pp said, most venues need an adult to attend with children under a certain age, so check restrictions. While Yungblud may attract a range of ages, the audience is likely to be younger.
Assuming the teenagers in question don't need an adult, I'd say 14/15.

The main factor for me is location. We are over an hour away from the nearest big city. If we lived in or near said city, I would have let them go at a much younger age than I did. That said DD was 15 when she went to her first, but her friends parents drove.

I was 8 when I went to see East 17 at Wembley. We were a group of 3 friends supervised by 1 parent.

14 and responsible.

Children usually cannot attend a concert unaccompanied until they are 14 years old. I’d check the terms and conditions, a concert with an age of 8+ may mean no one under 8 is allowed to attend but still have the under 14 accompanying rule.

Unaccompanied by an adult, around 14/15.
