I just thought it’d be nice to ask what we’re all looking forward to. I’m trying my best to cheer myself up. Christmas is on its way so that’s what I’m concentrating on for now. What other things are we all looking forward to? Smile

A bowl of chocolate and blood orange ice cream.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/10/2020 19:17

Going to watch Idiot Prayer at our lovely local independent cinema

ssd · 19/10/2020 19:17

I'm looking forward to things getting better. I know they will, I just don't know when.

SandysMam · 19/10/2020 19:20

Looking forward to half term and not doing the school run! Watching Halloween films with the kids and generally throwing my energies into trying to make things nice for them.

Watching Christmas movies which I am only allowed to do from November (my own rules!) and sitting round our new fire pit.

I have decided to give up worrying (and believe me, I have more to worry about than most). Worrying cannot change anything, and it is exhausting me.

@ToastyCrumpet

Nothing much. Next year is going to be absolutely fucking grim.
It might not be Flowers
CrepuscularCritter · 19/10/2020 19:20

Scrunching through the autumn leaves on my next walk. My favourite coffee and tea. Listing out where we might go once we can travel again. A big pile of books to read in front of the fire. Eventually being able to play - albeit badly - the guitar DH bought me at the start of lockdown. I'm trying to keep appreciating as much as I can, so there can be some balance in my life.

babygroups · 19/10/2020 19:25

@Greenhairbrush oh that's lovely! It's a bit worrying in the current climate and I think this maternity leave will be very different as there's nothing open around here and no household visiting. I'm looking on the bright side though. Best of luck Thanks

trilbydoll · 19/10/2020 19:29

Chessington next weekend and Paultons Park at the beginning of December. I'm a big fan of child friendly rollercoasters Grin

blue25 · 19/10/2020 19:30

A week away in a country cottage next week. Really excited to just chill out for the week eating lovely food and exploring the area.

aLilNonnyMouse · 19/10/2020 19:33

I'm counting down the days to the PlayStation 5 release. One month today!

I've been stuck inside since March and since I'm not working I've had very little to do. Games have helped pass the time but I ran out of stuff I'm interested in a couple of months ago.

The PS5 has a ton of new games that I'm really excited to play but the wait is sooo boring. It will be worth it in the end though.

Unicorners · 19/10/2020 19:35

Halloween, bonfire night and then Christmas. I'm not usually that fussed but dd1 is 3 now so this is the first year she will understand what is happening.

Having a good clear out of the stuff in our loft while my dp has annual leave next week.

A few different TV shows that I like are on just now after months with nothing.

I'm making a conscious effort to look forward to things just now too.

firstimemamma · 19/10/2020 19:35

Hot chocolate
Christmas without the in-laws!
Planning our new garden office

Rose789 · 19/10/2020 19:38

I’m most looking forward to planning Christmas Eve boxes for the kids 😂 the amount of fuss people have made about them today is marvelous

CosyAcorn · 19/10/2020 19:49

@HoldingForGeneralHugs I'd forgotten Rebecca was coming out, I can add that to my list. It will fill the gap left by Bly Manor

Once little one is asleep, I'm looking forward to making myself a hot chocolate and watching my DVD of the 10th Kingdom

Also looking forward to DH making a pumpkin pie this week

And I'm looking forward to decorating the house for Christmas in December. Most Decembers I'm run ragged with all the extra events that I'm actually looking forward to having a quieter stay at home Christmas. The Christmas miracle I'm hoping for is that DH's mum will be able to come and stay with us. We haven't seen her at all this year (in person) and DD misses her a lot.

ladybee28 · 19/10/2020 19:52

I got a bargain on a dutch oven that should arrive next week - I'm looking forward to cooking up lots of lovely stews...

That and seeing what DSS chooses as a present for DP this year - it's the first year he's been in charge of his own present-buying for his dad (I've given him a budget and told him to let me know what to order). Feels special.

Fluffybutter · 19/10/2020 19:54

Moving to our new house . Currently in a mid terrace and I hate my noisy bastard neighbours so looking forward to moving to a detached where I don’t have to hear their diy noise from 8am to 10pm week nights ..
However we still have about 4 weeks so I’m nervous we’ll go into nationwide lockdown at some point which will fuck it up Sad

Poppyismyfavourite · 19/10/2020 19:54

Short term: Bake off tomorrow!
Long term / Much more important: Baby being born in February! I'm now 22 weeks and finally letting myself get excited about it, have started buying baby clothes etc!

I know , it’s mind blowing how a treat for a child can cause such wailing and gnashing of gums !
peaceanddove · 19/10/2020 20:15

Going to Norfolk this weekend for beach walks, good food and roaring fires.

Zoflorabore · 19/10/2020 20:23

Short term-

On Wednesday we are adopting 2 husky girls and my 2dc (9 and 17) are beyond excited.
My 17yr old has Aspergers and anxiety and has struggled so much during lockdown doing his A levels and recently getting his UCAS form off. He’s wanted a husky since he could talk and he’s getting two of them. I think they will be the best thing ever for him.

Long term- hopefully a trip to Turkey next summer. I miss it so much.
