because I can’t decide where to live in N London?

... looking at Hampstead, Primrose Hill, Belsize and West Hampstead.

We’ve lived in our current home for 2 years but need to move because the landlord is selling(sigh). But we have to move to North London anyway because of the schools. Can’t move too far west or too far east. We do not have a car and use the underground mostly.

Does anyone have any advice about the villages I mentioned? More about the feel and vibe? Crime? Convenience? We know we can get a bigger house in West Hampstead but unsure about the area just because I don’t know it well. Never really go. It seemed more loud and busy when I visited.

I like highbury/Islington but seems like a pain to get to from N London.

Thank you🙏🏻

FGS move within walking/ scooting distance of your children's school.

With covid etc. any form of public transport for a commute will be a nightmare.

All of the areas except Kilburn you have mentioned have substantial houses and lots of money in the area so are nice.

If you don't have a car don't move to crouch end. I've got several friends who live there and as a non car owner it is a pain in the fucking arse to get to.

I've lived in Primrose Hill, Belsize and Hampstead. Now live in a different part of North London. I would say none of those have a particularly lovely community feel.
I vehemently disagree with this but can't say that wasn't your experience, it's certainly not mine

Just came across this thread - interesting to me as we’re making a N London move! Were very fixed on one area, and now less sure.

Op - perhaps you’ve made your decision already, but I would go for Primrose Hill out of those options if I were you. It’s villagey and I have a friend who has lived there a long time and has a strong community there. I’ve lived in W Hampstead and liked it, but I don’t miss it and definitely liked the feel of PH better (although I have never lived there).

@PamDemic - do you mind me asking which N London area you’re in? It sounds great! I am concerned about transience. Where I am now is VERY transient and I want to be somewhere more stable next - It’s too sad watching friend after friend leave!
